It seems like SNA has struggled with Mexico service from the beginning. There was quite a bit of service to MEX/GDL/SJD/PVR. Now, all has seen the axe take them out with the exception of one. Is SNA too expensive to utilize for these type of friends/family/leisure routes? AS has always been good at ...Jump to post
I believe LAX-AUS is another route that will see the A221s. It seems like DL wants to utilize this new premium narrowbody type on many of the medium haul Texas markets to offer a better mainline product to AA & UAs hubs as well as increasing capacity & offering a better product on routes bei...Jump to post
With the local carrier (AV) struggling and WN's inability to make MEX work (they can probably forget about trying BOG anytime soon), it's probably not a bad idea for AA,B6, DL, NK and UA to step up their game. I wonder if AS would consider offering service to Colombia? Maybe they could try somethin...Jump to post
Why is there so much talk about WN delaying mainland service when they don't have any 7M8s ETOPS certified? Only their 738s are. I'm sure we will see them eventually get ETOPS certification on their 7M8s. Perhaps WN will also have some of their 73Gs ETOPS certified for routes like OAK-ITO in which t...Jump to post
Is AV doing that poorly at ORD to discontinue all three markets? Didn't BOG recently just start? With UA having their principal hub at ORD one would think UA would be working With AV to build those markets up.
What are AV's most profitable markets?
Imo, the fact is B6 offers an excellent hard & soft product compared to their competition. I also feel AA wouldn't be adding their A321Ts if it wasn't for B6 offering a far superior product across the board in all classes. I know several who now fly B6 transcons exclusively even if does cost a b...Jump to post
Did AC have any routes that made a lot of money in the cargo sector that made sense for them to operate the 74E (747-400 Combis)? KL still operates their main daily LAX roundtrip with a 744 combi using it on most days. I believe KL has utilized it on there AMS-YYZ-AMS service quite a bit in the past.Jump to post
Impressive to see DL placing heavy utilization on NYC area flying to DFW & IAH with the A220s as well as from MSP & DTW. It shows they want to offer a superior product over their competitors in these markets. Hope we will eventually see the A220-300s fly long, thin transcend where the A321/B...Jump to post
I know DL has sent the 739ER on LAX/SEA-KOA in the past. I don't know if it wanted to see how they would do, since these are usually 752/753 depending on demand. I suspect LAX/SEA-KOA/LIH will see more 739ERs before HNL or OGG. Though it will be interesting to see when DL gets ETOPS on their A321NEO...Jump to post
Seems like AA's lovely T8 @ JFK could very well become a One World Terminal. It seems like AA could easily have all their OW partners there. Currently, does AA use all the gates? It seems their usage is on the lower side when compared to the other JFK terminals.Jump to post
AS will still need a suitable nb in the A319/73G capacity. AS is very good at up & downgauging flights according to demand on varying days. There are routes that definitely do not require 739ER or A321 capacity & and the 738/A320s are still too large but a E75 is too small. How will they sol...Jump to post
UA isn't what it once was in the LAX-SYD market. The competition & prices really do speak in addition to the in-flight service product?
What are UA's LF's on LAX/IAH-SYD? Does NZ have higher Legs on their IAH-AKL flight?
It's nice to see LO making an effort starting new routes from BUD especially since the possibility of Wizz Air or another LCC/ULCC starting long haul services from BUD are very bleak. LO has an excellent narrow body fleet with their E75, E90/95s & nearly brand new B737-8 & B7M8. Iniating sho...Jump to post
Currently, does AA ever have to bus passengers for mainline departures/arrivals to/from the remote/hard stand gates as well as the other occupants of T5? It will be very interesting to see how the total re-build of the T3 concourse goes since it will be done in stages & if their will be adequate...Jump to post
DL runs a lot of 757's through JAX, even to ATL DL has always done well in JAX. They even flew 767/L10s frequently when somebody service was frequent from ATL-MCO/TPA/FLL/PBI. DL will continue to send their 757s along with A321/739s since they have high demand there for those who transit via ATL. I...Jump to post
B6, AS, and WN have now all had issues there, and all kind of fall between the Mexican LCC's and the DL/AM JV. This isn't really a WN isolated issue Spot on! AS has struggled with MEX since they entered the market the first time. I was hoping they would make it this time around downgauging their SA...Jump to post
Retro liveries would be incredible ! I feel at least one a/c from each type BA flies should get a retro livery so that is seen throughout all of BA's network.Jump to post
This is great news for both JAX. JAX has always been an important station to DL as are all the major airports in Florida. DL knows what they are doing. It's great to hear about DL adding an additional BOS flight and JFK is now seeing some mainline. Personally, I thought we might see LGA upgauged on ...Jump to post
Sometime ago AF's CEO had said the A380 was indeed too large for their operation & the markets they serve. I have been wondeing if we will see AF downgauge flight # 065 & 066 to a 77W. As it is they have flights 068 & 069 which is operated with the 77W normally & then you have the fl...Jump to post
Imo, UA will never be up to the same standards QF offers out of DFW & what NZ offers out of IAH. Even with a connection, NZ still offers a far superior soft product compared to UA in all classes of service. (This also counts for LAX/SFO). Out of UA, AA & DL, IMO, DL offers the better soft pr...Jump to post
Yup. All 777-200 have lay flat seats. They are a mix of the Zodiac seats and the BE Super Diamonds though. Other than the 767s which have MX issues way more often than I can count, IMO, AA has the best overall hard product of the US3. All aisle access up front on all widebodies. Aside from their do...Jump to post
Though very busy, LAX-MEX has been an interesting market. Always seems GDL has done better in regards to airlines keeping the frequencies up there. UA has flown this route for a long time with various schedules. It does seem like UA will concentrate more on the leisure markets in Mexico. I'm sure SF...Jump to post
Are the chances pretty high HA will downgauge HNL/OGG-SJC from the 76W to A321S and increase the frequency or perhaps utilize an A330 on the highest demand days on HNL-SJC and the A321S on other days? Is demand higher for OGG or HNL out of SJC? I suspect AS has KOA well covered with the nonstop they...Jump to post
How bout introducing an actual J product? That would be a good start. I agree. Their J is just plain awful. I book J in AA when I fly JFK-LHR. We all know BA's product is quite dated at this point and time. They are making an effort to upgrade their CW cabins, but it all comes down to the seat at t...Jump to post
Isn't the LH service part of the A340 "City Line" service? I don't hear much about them. Does anyone know if VH has thought about adding Hanoi/Saigon-SJC with the 787? If anything gets added in the near future, MEX-SJC-MEX would be a good addition. Who is VH?!? Are you talking about Vietn...Jump to post

I think we'll see the C Series open up a few long, thin markets from SEA as well as LAX where the E75/717 doesn't have the range to do so. I wouldn't be surprised if DL operates a sub-fleet of C300s that will be fitted with IFE/AVOD for the longer markets so they can offer a superior product. Does S...Jump to post
Hats off & Congratulations to HA on the modest updates to their already fantastic livery. I'm grateful they didn't destroy a great thing like others have done. These updates remind me of how AS did there's. Another of my favorites. The only thing I think HA could do is add a small insignia to th...Jump to post
I'm surprised with the 319. Looking at the summer schedule out of SEA the 319 is a mainline odd-ball. Actually, it's a good move on DL's part to start the service with the A319. These come equipped with AVOD IFE, where the A320s do not, nor do the M90s. If the demand is there, DL will upgauge these...Jump to post
Eventually, will KL operate LAX with a 77W year round for their daily flight, and for the second flight during peak periods, will they utilize another 77E/77W or a 789? I was hoping we would see KL/AF purchase or lease a small number of 747-8 for their flights requiring more capacity than the 77W ca...Jump to post
You guys can be so petty and cynical. I appreciate you posting this article. This was my first time seeing pictures of the plane. Good for B6. Smart move on their part especially with VX/AS combining down the road. LAX-MCO-LAX has always been a busy market. I believe DL has been the largest one on the route for a very long time. I remember the days, they were flying it with 2x daily L10s, then went to a mix of L10/762s. Once t...Jump to post
I don't see UA adding SJC-IAD anytime soon. They are adding SJC-EWR now to compete with AS's new service. I was surprised to see UA also bring back SJC-ORD. SJC seemed like it was going to be another UAEx station. I'm glad things are turning around for them. Perhaps we'll see AS add SJC-DCA (if they...Jump to post
I don't think EK is different than any other airline that will have to reduce capacity in many markets during certain times of the year because of major holidays, seasons, economic factors, etc.. If they don't have to do this, then they are above everyone else, and I don't believe that's the case. I...Jump to post
I think HA's 717 fleet will be around for quite sometime . When it comes time to replace/renew their inter-island narrowbody fleet a combination of 75-115 seat would work well for HA. The problem I see that HA has now, which can be eliminated with a mix of E75/E90 a/c is having a second boarding/dep...Jump to post
