Re: Emirates A380 to Boston.

What does BA do with theirs? That one is at BOS for about six hours. British uses gate E12 all day. Even the 380 sits at E12 all day. They can do so because the only flights impacted by the presence of the a380 are....other BA flights. If it's late, the next BA arrival will also be late. Massports ...

Wouldn't be surprised to see Allegiant come in with more cities ... perhaps Las Vegas and Punta Gorda, channeling the former AirTran route to Ft. Coming in at midnight, getting through customs at 1, then sitting around Logan airport for 5 or 6 hours for a morning flight somewhere? If you're coming from China, it's not 1AM for you :) People do that type of "middle of the night" connection every day by the thousands. Granted Logan is...

Predicting a LF of 6% I think the load factor will be higher, but mostly due to 3U dumping cheap connections over their hub. A coworker of mine flew HU from BOS to CAN, connecting at PEK with a 14-hour overnight layover -- very inconvenient but he was flying home to visit and it was cheap. What are...

Re: FI "extra section" flights and a place for bigger planes at FI

The mix of 767, 757, and 737 lets them shift capacity between cities and routes as needed rather than being "stuck" in a corner. It's a pretty wise move given some of their markets are pretty new, and the ones that are new, are still growing and "proving" themselves.

There are already flights from CTU to JFK, LAX, and SFO. I’m not sure about their choice of BOS, as it is a relatively small city, but Boston is a very global city (just look at how many flights to Asia it already has). I think that with some help from the Sichuan government, this flight will do Al...

AA ORD-CUN is going from 3x 738 to 2x 788 starting this winter, which is a pretty big up-gauge in aircraft, but actually a reduction in # of seats per day. Along those lines, I don't remember the specifics but Delta runs 1x 739 in the summer MSP to CUN. In the winter time isn't it something along t...
