During the conference call today UA reiterated that they are still looking for used aircraft opportunities. We were discussing 777s and Hawaii, would UA be interested in used 777-300s, non ERs. Perhaps half a dozen or so for the Pacific from Hawaii and Guam?

I think the 787-10 has the range for LAX-LHR, which might be a good aircraft for that route. Perhaps even LAX-NRT.

No, CO filed Ch-11 in 1983 and 1990. They emerged from their second filing on April 28, 1993. There was no third trip.

Eastern had acquired three DC-10s they used to start MIA-LGW, around 1986 they sold one to CO along with the MIA-LGW route. They kept two which they used to
Fly MIA-EZE-SCL and then later MIA-GIG-EZE. When they sold their Latin American routes to AA CO acquired the other two DC-10s from EA.

CO flew JFK-HNL-SYD from the Eastern air lines terminal, their Texas air partner. They moved it to EWR for a while and then suspended it, the route was relaunched in 1997 with a DC-10, its been operating daily since 1997.
