Re: Passenger Dies on Delta Flight

When I was an FA, we were never allowed to declare someone dead or allow anyone else to make that call whilst in the air. We would perform CPR until we had diverted, were on the ground, and the doctors/paramedics on the ground could take over. No idea how they do it at DL but could be something simi...

Re: Samaritan's Purse DC-8 flying GSO to Italy

Currently trackable on FR24 as of 0935UTC https://fr24.com/DC87/244023ba I recently saw an ad recruiting pilots. A requirement was 12 hours of college level biblical studies. Also point number one on the list of "Essential duties" expected of their pilots wasn't the safe operation of an ai...

Re: Smoothest Landings?

The best I experienced in over 3000 flights was an A319 into MUC. I went to the flight deck and asked to shake the hand of whoever pulled that one off and the pilots looked at each other awkwardly and replied that it was actually an autoland. Until that point I thought autoland was only ever capable...

Re: Best and worst airport in Europe???

Manchester was my worst in recent years. Just awful in every sense. My favourite is probably Hamburg (though I am definitely biased, it was a second home for over four years) as I knew it so well and I really appreciate that it's not afraid to be an airport. It's not a shopping centre in disguise, t...

With my ex-employer in Europe we got nothing extra. No extra pay, no reduced hours, no extra holiday time in lieu. Luckily just by happy coincidence I always had the 24th and 25th of December off in the 8 years I flew for the airline (as FA). There was a heavily reduced flying schedule on the 25th b...
