Where is your "regional" ? The area in and around Amsterdam Thanks for the info. Didn't Amsterdam participate in some of the EU wide "alternative energy traction for public transport" ? ( Hamburg's HHA collected some of the Hybrid buses from those trials.) Not that I'm aware of ...Jump to post
@ jetwet1: I can't see Liverpool coming back from this either. Can you come back from 3-0 down in the CL? Absolutely! Can you do so against Barca and Messi? Good bloody luck, mates! Watching Messi play — the man is a godly I tell you. Your views concerning Spurs are appreciated. I think you've summ...Jump to post
A lot of the regional buses here are electric with powerful batteries. They charge at there and stations through charging point on the roof. Nice and quiet and comfortable. In the Netherlands that's is. Where is your "regional" ? The Swiss had Oerlikon made buses with flywheel storage in ...Jump to post
Sevilla in Spain uses street cars equipped with special fast-charging batteries. When passengers embark and disembark at stops, the batteries are charged. Then the street car drives to the next stop and the process repeats. No need for overhead wires anymore. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MetroCent...Jump to post
Unfortunately quite a few will leave, the competition in the Netherlands is not challenging enough. I would be great if Ajax could keep team together but very unlikely. Indeed. It's hard for a team like Ajax to say, no when a European super-club with a seemingly endless amount of cash comes calling...Jump to post
A final is a game in itself, anything goes. Indeed it is, and often it does. I worry what comes of this team for next season. How many will be wearing kits from different European clubs I wonder? One is already off to Barca, with another likely off there as well. Unfortunately quite a few will leav...Jump to post
With Son maybe a different outcome with all that 2nd half action inside the Ajax back third for Spurs. It's a remarkable story..and yet neither one of these teams (in my humble opinion) stands a chance against Barca or Liverpool in the final. I don't think Ajax could withstand the attacking brutali...Jump to post
Is Amsterdam the most beautiful , it is and it's not. The architecture is most certainly wonderful but can be found in other city's in The Netherlands like Leiden,Delft,Utrecht etc. what makes Amsterdam unattractive is the overcrowding. Is so busy these days that you can barely see and experience th...Jump to post
I've worked with a number of international carriers, and KLM is interesting due to their very unique crew rotations. They will gladly shuffle the crews around after they've left. Crew will arrive in Toronto, and overnight the decision is made that due to an aircraft swap, they now need that crew in...Jump to post
In the last two weeks KLM 611/612 has been operated with a mix of 744, 772 and 789 aircraft. This seems like an extremely inefficient use of crew resources. Alternating types and especially the one off 789 would cause needless deadheads and extended layovers. Is this the only way they can handle th...Jump to post
With Air France's B789s set to be transferred to KLM, would it also make sense for a top-up order of B788s for KLM, about 10 to bump the eight A332s to AF? (The five A333s are all leased, but they could go to Air France as well.) This would make the KLM mainline fleet: B737, B738, B739 (non-ER), B7...Jump to post
The word is out no A350 for KLM but extra 787 that where assigned to AF. Luchtvaartnieuws.nl Not saying it isn’t true but they are again quoting the same source. The company itself hasn’t made a public statement yet. However I’m interested in why KLM choses to have a significant gap in its fleet in...Jump to post
The Netherlands but I live here.
Since there are some NW knowlegeble people out here can any of you shed some light on the following. During the 90s with the NW/KL partnership in full swing KLM had a handfull of NW first or second officer's flying the 747-400 with them. I remember being on a flight from AMS to DPS where the FO was...Jump to post

The French government might block Elbers reelection and would like to postpone the shareholders meeting in April. Retaliation from the French? Both ministers will meet tomorrow and hopefully they will clear things up between them.

Pathetic year result for AF. Really strong result for KLM. KLM made this result with half the personel. AF bashing does not help the discussion. With Ben Smith, AF is trying to improve things, not to make things worse. Ben Smith has done an incredible job at Air Canada. Why don't you give him a cha...Jump to post
25.000 klm staff signed the online petition in support of Elbers. It was presented to the board at klm HQ where a large group of supporters shouted Elbers name. It shows that staff supports Elbers and sends a strong signal to Smith. Showing this kind of support to you're CEO is even for Dutch standa...Jump to post

Imo KLM is a poorly run airline. Poor product, poor service, low salaries. They can make a profit in this low fuel environment but nobody is happy. Not the customers, not the staff. Their operations lack the slack. There just isn't anything great with it. AF is losing money due to poor management. ...Jump to post
