Quietly in the August O&D update from Boeing, 8x GE-powered 789s listed as Unidentified have been converted to 8x [no-engine] 7810s listed as Unidentified. Let the speculation begin... I have the 53 previously yet to be delivered GE-powered Unidentified 789s as belonging to: (21) Hainan, (15) C...Jump to post

Possibly a stupid question I have here, but here it goes: While I understand the static wicks on the wings discharge the lightening energy (correct me if I'm wrong), I'm amazed how how the fuel doesn't somehow combust when the plane is struck. Can anyone shed any additional light on how the fuel is...Jump to post

411 seats on an A359? Must be 10-abreast! Wonder how this compares with 9-abreast 787s or 10-abreast 777s? Think about like this. The A350 is 5 inches wider than a 787. The 787 9 abreast configuration is supposedly terrible. Now think about fitting another seat in that 5 extra inches and you should...Jump to post
Does anyone know the story behind why Malindo/Batik Malaysia's 9M-LRG was delivered to Batik Indonesia instead? I think this quote should put everything to bed: Boeing has added firm orders for 20 777X and 19 787-10 aircraft to its backlog. How will A350-10 compare to the B77W with these new figures? Only a slight initial payload difference left, 1 or 2 t. But the A350-1000 will fly that initial payload over a longer distance. 3 t increase in MZFW to 223 t, equals 3 t increase in max payload to about 68 t. 8 t MTOW increase to 316 t, ...Jump to post
No, it is quite clear that it is 20 777Xs. Boeing has 33 777 orders ytd. 1 777F for FX (Jan), 8 UFO 77W (March), 4 77W for UA (last week), and these 20 777Xs (last week). With respect, If you go to the orders report dated June 23rd , sorted by model you will see 10 777X in the unid order column and...Jump to post

I thought the first 2 aircraft were RR powered? Unless that was changed or this is somehow the third 787-10. The second -10 LN548 is GE powered. If it was the second RR frame LN565, it would be filed as BOE2 not BOE36. For reference: ZC001 is LN528 - RR powered ZC036 is LN548 - GE powered ZC002 is ...Jump to post

Has anyone done the math around the feasability of 11 abreast 777x ? I know it would be very tight (9 abreat A330/10 abreast A350 tight) but would it be possible ? Seat width at 11 abreast would be: ~16.27" with 1.5" armrests and 17" aisles ~16.7" with 1" armrests and 18&qu...Jump to post
Incorrect. With 1.5" armrests and 18" aisles the seat width is 17.86" in the window row and 17.82" in the middle row not 18". These numbers from Boeing ACAP. You can do 1.5" armrests and 18" seats with 17" aisles. You can see that it will work out to be sligh...Jump to post
Can still be done using 1.5 inch armrests. The seat being shown is using a 2 inch armrests. It looks like Boeing doesn't want to go the "Airbus way" and start thinning armrests. Incorrect. With 1.5" armrests and 18" aisles the seat width is 17.86" in the window row and 17.8...Jump to post

That was odd. The gear cycle started but froze, then the doors shut again. It's flying with gear down at the moment.
