Thanks for the responses. I guess it just shows how good ANA is. For slightly more cost they go 2-4-3 (9 abreast in B777) and keep 2-4-2 (8 abreast in B787). ANA has no more 8-abreast 787s. They're all 3-3-3. Also, JAL has most of their international 772ERs in a 3-4-2 config. JAL also have 2-4-2 B7...Jump to post
Alaska just posted a photo of two A321neos in a paint hangar. Both have been painted in the More to Love livery. http://www.instagram.com/p/BfPWMvVhZKU/ I think that is a mirror, not a 2nd plane. Photoshop maybe, but definitely not a mirror. I like the scheme though so I hope it's applied on two pl...Jump to post
I thought MSN7877 was just a normal A321neo with just a different door configuration. Unsurprisingly, im not the only one that thought so: Very strange. 26 days ago Airbus told me (after I sought clarification) that this wasn’t the A321LR. It doesn’t have the 97t MTOW or the 3rd aux fuel tank. It’s...Jump to post

First 787-9 For Neos in full livery:
Thanks for reminding us. Going up to 14 a month makes a lot more sense once Boeing knew they'd get a deal from Emirates. 2017 has been a good sales year for the 787. Prior to this order, 83 per Wikipedia (not yet with Emirates order, again as Boeing made it sound like a conditional order that the S...Jump to post
Definitely 12 J class flat beds as that I can see but cant make out how many in Y. I guess they will lose one-two rows in Y class maximum from the current seat count...most likely one only. Could be if there are 2 777s from another carrier in the unidentified count for the week (China Southern ordered 8).
Could be 2 77Ws destined for another Chinese carrier.
In other ANU news, An Antonov 124 had an incident while parking on the ramp. Given the size of the aircraft I'm not surprised this happened:

Quietly in the August O&D update from Boeing, 8x GE-powered 789s listed as Unidentified have been converted to 8x [no-engine] 7810s listed as Unidentified. Let the speculation begin... Possibly a stupid question I have here, but here it goes: While I understand the static wicks on the wings discharge the lightening energy (correct me if I'm wrong), I'm amazed how how the fuel doesn't somehow combust when the plane is struck. Can anyone shed any additional light on how the fuel is...Jump to post

411 seats on an A359? Must be 10-abreast! Wonder how this compares with 9-abreast 787s or 10-abreast 777s? Think about like this. The A350 is 5 inches wider than a 787. The 787 9 abreast configuration is supposedly terrible. Now think about fitting another seat in that 5 extra inches and you should...Jump to post

I think this quote should put everything to bed: Boeing has added firm orders for 20 777X and 19 787-10 aircraft to its backlog. How will A350-10 compare to the B77W with these new figures? Only a slight initial payload difference left, 1 or 2 t. But the A350-1000 will fly that initial payload over a longer distance. 3 t increase in MZFW to 223 t, equals 3 t increase in max payload to about 68 t. 8 t MTOW increase to 316 t, ...Jump to post
