European Commission has been pushing hard on these horizontal agreements acting on a mandate from member states with the desire of amending all existing bilateral ASAs in the context of a single EU one with third countries instead. Good to see China now included in such broader agreement supplanting...Jump to post
But French Polynesia's population is 300,000, comparable to Iceland. And not all of Iceland live in Reykjavík either. You miss the point. Services in PPT are largely geared for its own population size (134,000) not to support entire FP (~280,000). There are local facilities in the various archipela...Jump to post
Maybe people do not realize, but the comparison to Iceland is a poor one as Iceland is a single island. French Polynesia is made up of about 60 populated islands spread out over large distances. Papeete population is merely 135,000 versus 340,000 in Iceland, to service are sized accordingly and more...Jump to post

Seems OPer is wrong. As posted by others KE does not offer early morning services to several other large SE Asian capitals, not just SIN. Interjet needs to focus on becoming a proper LCC and hopefully the new CEO and make the transition. Running A320 with mere 150 seats is not a recipe to make money on peanut fares. Look at how JetBlue learned it needed to densify its A320 over the years.Jump to post

I've seen a lot of really low fares on EWR-NCE been advertised. I really hope they can keep this going past this season. NYC could use more airlines like this. I'd take J on La Compagnie over Y or W on legacies any day of the week. Route is seasonal ending in Oct. There has historically been strong...Jump to post
In many ways Asia was the last large vestige where F class was common, but increasingly its being removed as well. Many airports are not level.
For instance at Madrid where I am doing a project, the field elevation varies by 120 feet from runway to runway, with some having a significant slope.
Also since ground was leveled at IST, over the years the land will surely settle more over time.
TK access to Xiamen and Xian would be interesting and give them a unique market advantage for connections. Xian (home to the Terracotta Army) is only serviced by Finnair seasonally, while Xiamen only has KLM as European carrier. I wonder if TK will also gain additional frequencies to PVG and PEK also?Jump to post
