Re: Australian Aviation Thread - January 2019

The downfall of EK in PER is very hard to watch. Only a few years ago they were by far the biggest player on PER-Europe. I would have thought the demise of EY services would give the second daily flight a lifeline, but I guess not. It’s fantastic that SQ has managed to remain at 4 x daily - I guess ...

PER-SGN and PER-HKT would be great additions to the JQ network with a 321LR. No competition and JQ seems to do far better than VA ever did internationally from PER. Why there is this notion on A.net that PER can't sustain premium demand is so beyond me.

Aside from the mining sector, Western Australians love to travel -and many of us choose affluent destinations flying J to get there.

QR doesn't fly an A380 here just for show and tell.

I'd say an MU announcement to PVG is a matter of when, not if. They did tentatively announce "trial flights" but nothing eventuated - maybe this announcement will give them the kick they need to get the ball rolling. I'm also surprised NH is jumping in straight to daily, which is a positiv...

Could a 77L operate LAX-PER year round in a 3-class config? Not saying it will ever happen, I’m just curious. That would be over 18 hours on the westbound leg.

With the prices QF are charging in J, I think there's significant demand for VS to jump on the route.
