Re: Australian Aviation Thread - August 2018

Had a wifi equipped QF BSI 738 on MEL-BNE this weekend and the connection was fast, consistent and hugely convenient. Then I got an old 738 on the return and it really did put into perspective how dated that product is! I really hope they consider installing the XZ fleet product on some of the older...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - October 2017

Is OEB the only 744 remaining in the old 4 class configuration? When is it due for retirement? I just booked SYD-JNB return next June/July, and after flying her JFK-LAX this year I am praying to the gods I don't get her again - she is in dire need of a new cabin product. I know they often use this b...

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - October 2017

PER-AKL to connect with LHR won't have the most optimal schedule. It would have to be something like:

PER 1500 AKL 2335
AKL 1445 PER 1815

I wonder if they could somehow rotate a 330 from SYD, MEL or BNE to avoid the 15 hour ground time?

I would love to see EK retain the capacity by launching DXB-PER-AKL. Replace the seasonal 2 x weekly QF PER-AKL service with a daily year round 777, slap a QF code on it and align the schedule for connections to/from PER-LHR.

Would love to see JQ or TT launch PER-ASP or PER-DRW, fares to the NT can be pretty high from WA.
