Re: 'I had to crawl': Amputee seeks damages after United Airlines and airport security seize scooter batteries

This is a sad situation. I'm surprised this issue doesn't come up more often and there isn't an established procedure for dealing with it. To clarify a few misconceptions, Canada doesn't have juries in these types of civil trials. I'm also a little bit surprised that he chose Tulsa as his anniversa...

At LHR, they operated some 727's on flights into Europe to feed the TTL services. TWA did this as well.

PA103 being a notable example. B727 service FRA-LHR, then switched to the B747 for the ill-fated LHR-JFK-(DTW) legs.

Re: TSA Testing REQ to Remove More Items from Bags

I was lucky enough to get TSA Precheck on my Southwest flight couple weeks back. I'm not signed up yet but I plan on investing the $85 for the application. :) I went with Global Entry through CBP. It's $100, but gives me the same PreCheck experience everyone else gets, plus I add the expedited cust...

That could get quite unpleasant if the weather is less than ideal.

Re: Tram to Airside 3 @ MCO Broken Down

From looking on Google Maps, it looks like it's about a 1700 foot walk (500m) if you follow the tramway. Any explanation where the walkways are? Or the path the bus follows, relative to the tramway?

Re: ATW says drop UA rebrand as CO

I've never gotten this obsession with either of these brands. I've long been a UA flier and they have always had brand/service issues. I do know that CO had a great turnaround period where they had great service, but the brand itself reminded me of an early 1990s PowerPoint template. And even at th...

Re: ATW says drop UA rebrand as CO

From a professional branding POV, they should NOT change the name to Continental or some other dumb new name like "Avialux" - (which a branding company would love to be paid $350,000 to do). It would be a great way to tell the world "we suck, so we are going to hide behind a new name...

Re: Another United gaffe - forces doctor off plane

I believe it is the norm that police officers are at airports, globally for this type of reason. Men get self important and irate, and they require careful use of force to maintain public order. I am perplexed that people question the airline captain and police officer's authority to decide -- at a...

Re: Heck, ATL is having it bad.

Huh? I live in Atlanta and have had no road issues on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, or today. I'd hardly characterize it as "unsafe to travel". Can you offer specific examples? Or point to some news coverage? Because where the rubber on my car has met the road, it's been smooth sailing. ...

Re: Heck, ATL is having it bad.

The whole network didn't crash. But a significant part of it did, so to speak. What you really are asking (perhaps without realizing it) is why have a network of interrelated parts? As IPFreely is fond of saying, if someone trips over a power cord in Atlanta stuff happens. You cannot unplug Atlanta...

Re: Heck, ATL is having it bad.

Flightaware.com is showing Delta as leading the cancellation derby for today http://flightaware.com/live/cancelled/today and also for the past two days. Can this all be due only to unusual weather at Atlanta? Two thoughts on this: First, kicking DL in the heart of the operation for two of three day...

FR24 showing 5hr delays at ATL, some nasty weather to be had, and a ground stop. https://www.flightradar24.com/airport/atl/departures Any A.netters there? Got one right here. It's been crazy today. The first round came in mid-morning with lots of rain and some high winds. Around lunch time the seco...

JFK-MIA is 947 NM and is all Airbus.

DL671/DL700: MKE-CUN-MKE clocks in at 1313 NM. (Only runs on Saturdays).

Re: UA Denies Boarding to Non-Rev Girl in Leggings, Social Media Revolts

A big part of the problem is that carriers have not only made them a benefit of X number per quarter or year, but that in many cases, they're actually ticketed on the company website itself. Here's the problem; the "buddy pass" becomes a discount code, entered in the booking path on the m...
