Re: A380 was success for Airbus, says new CEO

The A380 may have been a commercial failure but the engineering and management lessons learnt are clearly apparent. Question is are those lessons worth 30B? I'm sure if they had built the a350 instead of the a380 they'd have teething issues too, but at least that program would have been a commercia...

The A330 NEO is an affordable, capable long haul platform, competing with the 787. https://simpleflying.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/A339-7879-dimens-keesje_zps1afcfjgm-700x483.jpg Not suitable for 2-7 hour flights, unless there is nothing else for moving 250-350 people. Smaller than then the 778. They don't want all that extra weight. They want the A359 but don't want to diversify the fleet. I’ll wait for firm confirmation but I won’t be surprised at all by this decision. What do you mean they want the A359? I mean they want a plane that can fly AKL-EWR/GRU/ORD wi...

What about the 777X order? No mention of it, so they might be canceled as well, who knows. Wrong, the article quotes AAB as follows: “from 2024, our fleet will consist of Boeing 777 and 787, and Airbus A350 and A321 aircraft.”. It’s the 737MAX which isn’t mentioned. A330 looks a bit dated , A350 looks really good and elegant and that size is appropriate much like A321. Re: Airbus A350 to have RR Ultrafan Engines from ~2025, Ostrower

. Scott believes the likelyhood of a stretch grew. The prospect of a new, Rolls-Royce Ultra Fan engine for the A350 around 2025 will give the -2000 significantly superior economics to the 777-9 and a longer range, a preliminary analysis by LNA shows. https://leehamnews.com/2019/02/18/a380-end-opens...

Re: BA’s 777-200ER replacement?

...and I’ve heard it is definitely 4 arriving in 2020. 3 were ordered with an option which was taken up. So many so called “facts” on this thread. We’ll just have to count them when they arrive! Re: Confirmed: EK cancels 380's, orders 330neo and 350.

EK is not the only airlines that got great deal on A330-900neo. All airlines did since it's a cheap update on the old A330. One of the problem with B787-10 is the fact that it can't do heavy duties operation like A350-900. But it's too big for smaller secondary cities around Middle East, Eastern Eu...
