Jump to postTK - wasn’t Turkish supposed to do a massive Boeing order like the Airbus order? Maybe I’m misremembering. Either way, I don’t think it’s far-fetched it is TK and 20 seems like a reasonable start if TK wanted the 777X in addition to the A350s. Could be 9 or F. https://www.flightglobal.com/fleets/tu...

Probably a journo comment conflating and transposing the number of orders from B to A
A lot of the recent orders are slated for delivery over the next 10 years ahead so unlikely a rate increase is required. However deliveries so far this year are nowhere near 9 a month.

Part of the Korean/Asiana merger agreement gives Virgin a LHR-Seoul route. However they don't want to operate it until they can overfly Russia due to time. That's probably also why they aren't looking at other Asian routes.

IAG will need to factor in the same "diversion risk" as AF/KLM. Over the next 25 years anywhere long haul east or south of LHR could suffer restrictions on airspace access for political or military reasons, in contrast to routings west of LHR. I think that points to 789 or 359/10 orders, ...
