Re: Delta posts Q2 2017 profit $1.85 Billion USD

I understand that delta likes to showboat with their financials, but it's a little bit dishonest when every other carrier is reporting their net income, and Delta is puffing their chest with their earnings and putting a little disclaimer below "pre tax." Obviously it's a great quarter for...

Re: lack of AA JFK-DFW

I've always thought the same of service between ATL-JFK. Even DL only operates 3-5 flights a day each way compared to 10+ ATL-EWR and 15+ ATL-LGA. Even AA doesn't fly ATL-JFK, which surprises me. Getting from LGA to JFK for a connection is a pain. I was in a taxi line at LGA next to a couple headed ...

Re: Delta Pilot Crewbases at Focus Cities

It seems the discussion has roped in FA bases along with pilot bases. (Or are there just crew bases that include both FAs and pilots?) My understanding is FAs are trained on every aircraft type, so having a critical mass of flights on a particular aircraft is much less relevant (if at all) compared ...

Re: UA to launch Key West - EWR, ORD

DL use to fly the 73G to LGA from EYW (with baggage restrictions- one checked bag and that is all allowed, for all passengers). While I do not know how UA's are speced EWR may be doable for their 73Gs. Probably even ORD, which is ~50 mi further, albeit with more restrictions. FWIW, all of DL's flig...

Re: Delta to cut JFK-NRT, NRT-BKK/KIX; MSP-NRT decision 'pending'

The DOT got tired of DL's sheniagans from the nighttime HND slots and has already awarded AA back up authority for a DFW flight if DL can't make MSP work. Other than that DL has to hope someone else gives up a slot...Japan will not be granting any more access soon. Oh right, I forgot about the back...

Re: Delta to cut JFK-NRT, NRT-BKK/KIX; MSP-NRT decision 'pending'

DL doesn't want to serve NRT from JFK. It wants to serve HND. I bet they are angling that they'll get a slot to serve JFK-HND before long. Or possibly appeal to move MSP's HND flight to JFK (certainly to cause an uproar from AA & UA fans on these forums) if MSP doesn't pan out? In the meantime, ...

I know this is going to sound ridiculous at best but I am curious. Could DL possibly try to get more gate space at MDW? I know WN is king there but couldn't DL look to focus attention to MDW? Honestly, it seems strange for any plane not to be equipped with rafts at all as there are numerous bodies of water besides oceans where planes might have to ditch and evacuate into.
