Re: JetBlue restructuring operations, to lay off employees

HA offers nothing to the US3 that they couldn’t do themselves. UA is already the ConUS-Hawaii market leader in terms of daily flights and seats. I don’t see HA’s international network being of much interest to the US3 either, especially UA who has the strongest Pacific hub of any North American car...

Re: JetBlue restructuring operations, to lay off employees

Wow. If they’re laying off now when the economy is good, what the heck are they gonna do when the economy goes south? Settle down. JetBlue has north of 22,000 crew members. 79 either took a buyout or were reorged out. Delta did it recently, and AA is doing it now. The UA bloodbath at Willis is also...

with the exception of the WIFI, Delta gives you more. Look at EC, free booze which is huge to most people. Delta also has free movies and all that unlimited stuff. Re: JetBlue restructuring operations, to lay off employees

I wouldn't group JetBlue's product in with most other carriers. Who else offers free DirectTv, movies, unlimited soda, juice, snacks (cookies, popcorners, Bluechips, etc) more legroom and free wifi? JetBlue offers a lot more than most and that's not an opinion. I think all of those perks are enough...

Re: JetBlue restructuring operations, to lay off employees

they'd likely only have to divest FLL slots. There is no such thing as “FLL slots.” If B6 and AA were to merge (a big hypothetical if), the DOJ would likely force AA and B6 to reduce their combined footprint at FLL. How? There’s no mechanism to force such a reduction. It’s not a slot restricted air...

Re: JetBlue restructuring operations, to lay off employees

I see UA perusing an acquisition, but not of a larger carrier. Something small that is just absorbed by UA, not trying to blend cultures or merge brandings. Think CO / PeoplExpress which was actually quite successful in that they gained the EWR hub which has been lucrative for both CO and now UA. O...

I think there's a merger or acquisition in B6's future, but it isn't any of the big three. It was a sad day for those who left and those who remain at the support centers, but the reality it that these staff moves roughly compiled less than 5% of the support center staff, half of whom voluntarily left with the opt out package. I think the best thing about Delta using the A330-300 as the replacement is that you can finally have lie-flat seats on domestic routes, There are plenty of lay flat seats on domestic routes.
