EK can do both - they can have a 10-abreast Y section behind premium economy in the middle section of the A359 (ahead of doors 3L/3R and 9-abreast in the aft section where galleys and lavs are better aligned with 9-abreast and tapering of aft fuselage.

The A223 can have 150 seats at 30 inch pitch and 160 seats at 28 inch pitch according to Bombardier's own seat maps from when the aircraft was called the CS300. EgyptAir's A223 were configured with 137 C/Y seats and a huge aft galley but flew most short domestic hops and regional Middle East flights. Sounds like the aircraft was used on the "wrong" routes cabin config-wise. 148 Y and a small aft galley might have been better...?

VS had B744s back then, so pilots could transition to the B789 when the B744 were retired without too much trouble, I s'pose.

The B789s are leased, IIRC, so they will leave the fleet within a few years.

Time to bring back the classic galley curtains on US flights too, by the sounds of this... I was a FA and Senior FA with a large European airline for almost a decade and we used curtains actively to keep the galley as "our space" - the airline still does this as does most airlines in Europ...

I find it interesting that no low-cost carrier has ordered the E195-E2 with 144-146 slimline seats at 28 inch pitch, seeing as carriers like Wizz and easyJet use such configs with success. With 2-2 seating having 18 inch wide seats comfort should be okay even at tight pitches.

EY fly their "standard" A35K with two-class 371 seats to Chicago, 14 hours non-stop - so the A35K is no slouch to begin with.

BA recently ordered six B787-10 - will they be delivered with crew bunks? If so, that might give an indication on BA's plans for the future regarding the B787-10. With all three versions of the B787 in large numbers they can have multiple configs too on all three - high-premium cabin capacity, medium-premium cabin capacity and low-premium cabin capacity/high-density Y. They'll enjoy amazing flexibility.

If AF/KL are planning to have big business class suites and large Premium economy cabins on the A359 total capacity may not be that much larger than on current A332/A333/B789/B772. If the A350s end up flying 14-18-hour flights many pax will pay extra for more space and comfort.

In 2020 AF/KL swapped widebody orders so that AF would take only A350 and KL only B787 - which is why AF only have 10 x B789. Does this strategy still apply or has it been abolished for this coming order?

Braathens B762 had 2-3-2 seating, 242 seats in total. I was a passenger on them in 1984/85 and I had colleagues who worked on them as FAs - they loved the B762. Great plane, shame it only lasted a couple of years with Braathens...

SunClass Airways used a leased 373-seat A339 between Thailand and Scandinavia this past winter and will probably use their own A339 this coming winter. I was impressed to see an A339 with 373 pax fly 13+ hours nonstop. A very capable bird.

Type "Boeing ACAP" in your search engine and see Boeing's own seat configs - the MAX 10 are shown in a two-class 204-seat version and a 230-seat all-economy config with seats at 28 inch pitch. The SpaceFlex aft galley/lav setup will be a staple on many MAX aircraft too.

I find it interesting that much of the advertising regarding the A220 is about its long range capability while most operators in Europe, Africa and Asia are using the A220 on mostly short flights (from 30 minutes long to 2 hours long)... is it due to the engines needing maintenance after only 5,000 ...
