Re: Norwegian to close 737s bases in PMI/TFS/LPA/FCO/PVD/SWF

I’ve heard the DUB crew base is also closing despite reports to the contrary. Any confirmation of this? I’ve seen the internal/union memo which is what I guess you’re referencing? It announces Dublin shrinking from 6->1 based aircraft and the resulting redundancies amongst pilots and cabin crew. I ...

Possibly Tighter Cuba Policy Unlikely to Impact Airlines Directly

This is kind of a non-story, but I wanted it to be clear that the change does not seem to impact airlines operating to Cuba. A 1996 law known as the Helms-Burton Act give Americans the right to sue companies profiting from properties confiscated by Cuba’s government after its 1959 socialist revoluti...

Re: Corporate traffic sneak peek: SFO-PVG tops list of UA’s most lucrative Apple routes

Sure it’s less breadth of product, but now they can see what it’s worth to try to undercut individual routes. Apple could certainly have a different preferred airline for different routes. That used to be the most common arrangement until the number of airlines shrank so much. I can assure you, as ...

Unless some other airline decides to open multiple TPAC services from Sfo or sjc, there's nothing really to discuss. DL and AA have partners that fly Transpac from SFO Still doesn't help that much. A crew base for 1-2 daily flights makes zero sense, and I believe they had a hard time staffing SWF too as I know they had to ground transport PVD crew there for a while. Yes this limits operational flexibility to add new service but id rather them survive and sustain so I see this as a smart move....

OP's past posts seem fairly credible. So this seems oddly vague and ominous in terms of what it means. No media on Google of this yet.

The idea of B6 becoming a ULCC doesn't sound like a good one to me; they'd only be trashing most of their current yields, and there's no guarantee they'd attract enough incremental passengers on higher-density aircraft to warrant the drop in RASM. Obviously ULCC stands for "Ultra Low COST Carr...
