So, on the one hand you have B6 which is a big believer of flying to all the airports near its "hubs" as a way to build mind-share with customers, B6 also doesn't fly into MHT, ISP and MIA. Those are airports B6 likely wishes it could use an eraser (at least out of the minds of passengers...

Thanks again for all this great work Enilria. DL is reducing flights to LHR from BOS and DTW, but LHR is the one airport I can't see a slot sitting empty. Are there any DL adds to LHR somewhere that I missed? :) With VS they have a lot more ability to cover slots. Refuses is a very strong word. PHX...

Given that UA announced they were dropping SIN-LAX and going double daily on SIN-SFO, and both carriers are Star, I have to assume this was choreographed. Although there is no JV, which means they are not allowed to collude on capacity. SQ to SFO is a bit more confusing.

What changed is that QX costs got too high, although arguably AS did it 10 years too late because it made a lot more sense when wages were not headed up as they are now. Regardless, the strategy still works to have two options as a cost reduction measure.

Same as AADLUA. The real answer is that it keeps labor costs down. One bidder for new flying gives the union too much power. With two operators they can bid against each other.

I posted in the prior thread that DL couldn’t make MIA-HAV work because they have no market strength in MIA. I was attacked. Vindication.

You just can’t fly point to point routes from somebody else’s megahub and expect to make money.

Actually, that is not far from what a stock worth 1 Bolivar would bring in. Maybe they should register here on the Caracas Stock Exchange?... The situation in Venezuela is truly horrific. :( Out of context for this thread, of course...but I just sold dollars here at 3,200,000 bolívares per US dolla...
