Re: Memphis International Airport in the past

Similar to my "Classic Mississippi Aviation" thread, I wanted to start this sop that we can all discuss and learn some things about the past of Memphis International Airport. I've read up on things such as Delta L1011s serving ATL-MEM and Braniff Airways serving MEM for a short time. Anyt...

According to Bombardier it’s a single class configuration with 28 inch seat pitch to cram those 90 seats in there.

Re: DL 777 retrofit, interesting twist

Looking forward to the suites on the ER's & LR's. Done six segments on the A350 in the suites. Overall I am very pleased with the suites Does anyone have any insight as when the suite retrofitted ER or LR will be put on ATL-NRT-ATL? Not sure when that will happen, but talk is ATL-NRT will be go...

Re: How do airlines balance their transatlantic summer demand in the winter?

With slack in the fleet the charter side picks up more during the fall and winter especially with college and pro football and basketball in the U.S.

Re: Domestic 767-400s

Haven’t checked the schedule recently, but DL has been running them on JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO as stated above. The best chance to catch one domestically on DL is during the winter when there is slack in the widebody fleet due to the international summer flying season drawdown.

Check out airlinesimulation.com. I’ve always enjoyed playing it. They have an online version as well as a stand-alone PC version. It’s a very extensive and detailed simulation.

Word on the street is delta will start directly capacity dumping on the transatlantic LCC routes. Blood in the water at Norwegian.

I find that difficult to believe that Delta would go after the bottom feeders. They have branded themselves as being the choice for the business traveler.

Re: Embraer Hopes Pinned on New Scope Clause in 2019-22

Mainline pilots in the US will not relax scope in the current environment. What I think you'll begin to see is more mainline flying into smaller markets with larger (100 seat) aircraft as Delta is doing while reducing Regional flying. This will result in seeing fewer flights in some markets (6-10 RJ...

RE: Question On The Wright-Shelby Amendment

Actually, The Wright Amendment was amended a few years ago adding Alabama, Mississippi, and Kansas to the list of the states that border Texas. Congressmen from these states managed to push this through in hopes of getting WN to add direct flights ...

However, they ought to be reminded that there are plenty of out-of-work and underpaid aviation professionals out here salivating for the opportunity to take their place! Union or not!

Continental has a great thing going the way they are running it now. I've flown CO the past couple of trips I've made, and that's because they were offering the best deal!! It was even better than a widely-known LCC I could've flown. BTW, if I ha...
