Re: New Zealand Aviation - March 2024

DEN has very little intercontinental service due to much smaller O&D than ORD. There are flights to LHR, NRT, FRA, MUC and seasonal service to CDG and that's it. It's really hard to imagine a nonstop to AKL working from DEN. I agree. Never say never; could be a seasonal ops in the northern hemi...

Re: New Zealand Aviation - March 2024

ORD is definitely the weakest US route for NZ however. Whether ORD is actually resumed for summer 2024/2025 remains to be seen. If ORD is dropped, I wonder if that might open up the possibility of a seasonal NW DEN service down the line. I'm not sure how DEN would be any stronger than ORD. I don't ...

I could maybe see some kind of future 772 HD or low-J configuration that's just 32 Polaris J seats between doors 1 and 2 and then all coach aft of door 2. They could probably fit at least 330 seats on a configuration like that. That's effectively what the 77G/M/O subfleet is, except with the old 2-...

At the risk of adding confusion, this isn't really true. The door plug is larger than the opening, it just isn't larger from the inside pushing out but rather larger from the outside closing against the smaller fuselage opening. The door plug has a seal around the edge facing the fuselage opening. ...
