American's policy is to just take out the axe and start chopping - cancel as much as possible we'll pick up the pieces tomorrow. As opposed to their DFW policy where they start delaying everything that moves whenever there's a lightning bolt within 500 miles of the airfield. My own personal opinion...

The difference between UA (well, most any American carrier) and LH is night and day. Welcome to flying the US3...where just about any full-service European airline (save maybe a few like BA) easily beats them in service and amenities. I have zero issues with the profit margins...I have issues with airlines maximizing their profit margins while providing progressively crappy customer service (if they even provide it at all). If you're gonna go for more profit, maybe it'd help to re-invest in better service. And, of course, not pat...

Or the attitude that existed post 9-11..where every customer was valued. Except, unless we're paying to sit up front, we're not anymore...to the airlines, we're nothing more than an endless source of ancillary fee milking...and after that, we're just a burden for them to transport from point A to B.

I booked a flight on AA today, LGA-CLT-DAB. The basic economy fare was $100. The main cabin fare was $101. I laughed. Yah, I've noticed AA has the LEAST predictable fare increases from econ- to reg econ...it almost depends on the flight, but it's anywhere from $0 to $15. DL is almost always $15-20 ...

Except that you were getting more for the price you pay now. AA has been matching ULCCs with an arguably superior product for years. If you ever looked into it, you would see that AA's O (lowest) fares were NK fares + bag fees + seat assignment. The prices were actually configured that way, yet NK ...
