Re: A Trip to Tahiti MIA-LAX-PPT AA 773 J AF 772 Y

Excellent report! I too absolutely love the feeling of a big international airport at night - even in this day and age it seems very special to be boarding a transoceanic flight amongst all the busy passengers heading all over the world. I can only imagine what it must have been like in the heyday o...

Amazing Asia - A Week In SIN, HAN, LPQ, And REP

Taking advantage of an opportunity to attend a conference in Singapore, I got to spend last week exploring southeast Asia and enjoying its amazing sights, smells, and tastes. My trip began with a very early departure from <acronym title="Nashville - International (Metropolitan) (BNA / KBNA), USA - T...

Whirlwind Trip To Russia And The Baltic Countries

Wanted to share my whirlwind trip of Russia and the Baltic Countries last week. Purpose was to visit friends in the Baltics, tour Russia, and attend a business meeting in London. A fairly packed itinerary that had me fly <acronym title="Nashville - International (Metropolitan) (BNA / KBNA), USA - Te...

African Adventure - Egypt And Kenya From The USA

An opportunity to attend a conference in Nairobi, Kenya brought with it several exciting potential routings from my home airport in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Fly to <acronym title="Dallas / Fort Worth - International (DFW / KDFW), USA - Texas">DFW</acronym> then try Emirates with a stopover in Duba...

RE: ZQN-MFN (Milford Sound) - Over The Southern Alps

Tickets on Real Journeys were about $350 USD if I remember right - that included a cruise on the Sound and lunch - all and all pretty good deal considering the scenery. Trip was about 5 hours - with about 50 minutes in the air each way. The pilot told me he used to fly for <acronym title="Air New Ze...

ZQN-MFN (Milford Sound) - Over The Southern Alps

I had the privilege of visiting New Zealand's South Island last August. One of my favorite places on earth. I was in Queenstown (which by the way is the coolest winter sports resort around) and planned to take a bus to Milford Sound via Te Anau on my last full day in the country. Unfortunately (or, ...

RE: Norway In A Nutshell

The high speed train was very cool - seemed faster than other high speed TGV and Thalys trains I have taken in Europe before - but unfortunately I did not get any photos of the inside. Glad you enjoyed the report.

Norway In A Nutshell

I have been reading and enjoying other people's trip reports for quite some time - figured it was about time to add one of my own. A conference in London allowed me a week to explore a new European destination thanks to <acronym title="Ryanair (Ireland)">FR</acronym>'s low fares. Flew <acronym title...

RE: Star Alliance - Around The World Ticket

I think you can go to the Star Alliance website and put in scenarios to see whether they will work with the RTW ticket. I know the main restriction is that you cannot double back, i.e. all travel has to be in the same direction.

I haven't heard of Ryanair doing that, I think that would be a great idea though.

Could A Low Cost/low Fare Product Work To Europe?

I am just curious -- with all the new all-biz "low fare" start ups, could a low fare/low cost model work in all economy to Europe? i.e. cram a 744 full of economy seats and fly between, lets say, Southwest hubs at <acronym title="Baltimore / Washington - International (Friendship) (BWI / KBWI), USA ...
