SQ flew SIN-BCN-GIG 3x weekly but suspended it in 2016 because of weak sales. I guess if the traffic is there they could restart it again, but where would the stop be? BCN again....or?

If BA had a gate capable of handling the A380 in T7 they would use it. It's the flagship of their fleet and is configured with the right size of F,J,Y+ and Y. Well...even £14BN does seem very expensive for just one runway and expanded terminals, considering the all new Instanbul Airport has been built from scratch for not much more! If it does happen, will be looking 2030, if ever!! So I don't think IAG have much to worry about slot wise right now.

Are we to assume that the EK A380 order did not materialize because of this investigation? Or that the B787 deal was announced as a "slap" in the face to Airbus for past mis-deeds?

Why is this thread an attack on BA? You don't like them...don't fly them...simple! I never do but I don't attack them. I have multiple choice out of EDI or GLA, BA included. Id rather fly EK, EY, QR or TK anyday than BA but that's my choice.

Ive flown both and like both. IST is not as hectic as DXB but is very old. A330 on TK and 77W on EK.......but both excellent carriers. I think EK gets the nod on brand recognition because of their high profile sponsership in sports, especially here in UK.

El Al was directed away from A330s several times over the last 15 years. By people that know nothing about aircraft/airlines. That possibly let to friendly pricing to make up. Not ignoring the 787-9 seems a very good fit for El Al operations. So political influence not only blocked El Al from order...
