Re: Future of the A338

For those who say that the A330 replacement market hasn't come yet, when that market comes in say, the mid-2020s where late Model A330s are gonna get replaced, what additional advantages would the A330neo gain over the 787 that it doesn't currently possess now? -Capex? That argument is getting shak...

Re: Future of the A338

If there was some confusion inside Airbus 15 years ago over which wide body market segment its products were ‘supposed’ to compete with, that confusion is certainly over now. The A350 was burdened with some cognitive dissonance over whether it was supposed to address the Dreamliner market, or the 7...

Re: British Airways seeks increased presence in China via mainland airline deals to keep pace with European rivals

When a Chinese tourist makes a once in a lifetime trip to Europe they need a visa. They get themselves an EU visa for the Schengen zone. If they want to visit the UK, they need a separate UK visa. Most don't bother, and only visit mainland Europe. This cannot improve with Brexit unless the UK gover...

From what I’ve been told by contacts at QF there is no love for RR at the moment. The a380 engines were particularly susceptible to sand going through Dubai which caused engineering grief. However others have said the relationship between QF and RR is good. So who knows !! Just curious, is there an...

News is that COMCAST has bid over $30B to take ownership of SKY TV here in UK. Now SKY TV, itself 39% controlled by 21st Century Fox, is also subject to a bid by DISNEY to takeover 21st Century Fox. I don’t disagree with this course of action by EK. Playing the diplomatic and calm approach has just seen the US3 try and gain more of the headlines. What has to be made clear is that for every action there is a reaction, and UAE have a few very strong cards in their deck to play if the US3 continu...

The aero engine part of GE is very valuable (approx $100BN) on its own. So I do not see a negative going forward. In fact, with the huge backlogs at both A & B, its value should increase as more and more single aisle jets are sold, not to mention the widebody side.
