I was recently in New Zealand, and I took a NZ ATR from DUD to CHC. The DUD terminal had a non-sterile entry to the gate for prop flights, and similarly, at CHC, there was a non-sterile area for prop flights. What I heard from my New Zealand hosts, security is not necessary for prop flights. SmithA...Jump to post
Apologies if it was mentioned earlier in the thread. Doesn't the President board Air Force One via stairs ? Yes, usually via truck-mounted stairs rolled up to door L1 and with a red carpet at the bottom of the stairs (the usual photogenic way). There are also integral airstairs that open on the por...Jump to post

I've done it twice if I remember rightly. In 1994 I disembarked my TWA 747 at MAD (after arriving from JFK) via stairs and was bussed to what was then the international terminal in an articulated 5th-wheel-style bus. (This was long before T4.) In 2002 I disembarked my EI A333 at DUB (after arriving ...Jump to post
Indiana is my native state (and I grew up there until moving to London in 2004), so I still keep an eye on events happening at home even though I live in Colorado now. It's great to see that IND has evolved to the point where there now will be a scheduled intercontinental flight for the first time (...Jump to post
It was announced today that IND is looking for a first class hotel at the terminal. http://www.insideindianabusiness.com/story/38043216/indy-airport-looking-into-possible-new-hotel There seems to be an issue with the spot marked for the hotel location. That spot is marked as parking structure (2020...Jump to post
Well, this thread has been interesting!! I actually believe the premise of the study. I’ve noticed that people on the far reaches of either side on the political/belief spectrum are often very angry. You can see it right here. I’m not particularly religious, but I do believe — in my own way. As for...Jump to post
I haven't seen this question addressed yet...could standing-up/saddle seats be the new Basic Economy seats on airliners (i.e., have these located all the way aft in a cabin of their own)? I'm envisioning first/business forward, economy plus and/or standard economy midships, and a section of these st...Jump to post
As far as I know, LHR is business and connection-focused, whilst LGW is O&D and focused more on bucket and spade routes (like MCO, one of the biggest bucket and spade destinations stateside).
I've done it--I've booked BA WT+ DEN-LHR return (leave DEN Sun. 14 October and arrive LHR the next morning, and return to DEN 24 October). The 747 configuration, according to the BA seat map for selecting seats (after I booked it on AA.com), shows the WT+ cabin in zone B (just behind First in zone A...Jump to post
While WT+ is certainly better than WT, I would rate DY premium as superior except for 2 things, the IFE selection is a little small and food is hit and miss, is there is a curry dish on the BA flight it is hard to beat. Either way I would still take DY. Last September I took the inaugural DY DEN-LG...Jump to post
I'm almost ready to book my trip in BA WT+ DEN-LHR return. Looking on AA.com, it's shown as codeshare AA 6169 DEN-LHR (operated as BA 218) and codeshare AA 6170 (operated as BA 219); both are operated on BA 747 aircraft. The fare choices include premium economy (P); does that necessarily refer to th...Jump to post
Congratulations to QF on setting this milestone in aviation. I've flown QF twice (last year and in 2010) and love their service. At 17h, QF9 is long enough to allow for watching 8 Star Wars movies back to back (whether you do it with all the main movies and not Rogue One, or any combination of them)...Jump to post
Another question: What version(s) of the 744 do BA operate to DEN from LHR? According to SeatGuru, there are 3 versions of the 744 in use by BA. Strangely, V1 (the most common 744 version according to SeatGuru) has the WT+ cabin in zone B (between First and Club World). The other two versions have W...Jump to post
I’m a big fan of BA WT+. Highly recommended ! Seats great & comfortable for sleeping, food superb and plenty of IFE. Ive never used the mains outlets but they are there under seat & It says so on BA.com. Hopefully your are in AA FF program as you’re doing plenty of long haul on AA so plenty...Jump to post
I should add that I've never been able to get a good sleep in the standard economy seats (even in emergency exit rows and even if reclined), and I need to explore the possibility of using my CPAP inflight. Classes better than standard Y have in-seat mains outlets, which might allow me to use CPAP in...Jump to post
For the last two years I have been flying from DEN to London nonstop (using both BA and DY). The first time (2016) I flew BA World Traveller (regular economy) 747 service DEN-LHR return. Disney Cruise Line have ordered 3 new ships to be launched in 2021, 2022, and 2023. These new vessels have no names yet. What are your guesses as to the new ships' names? In June 2010 I was travelling from SFO to BOS. I was booked on UA nonstop SFO to BOS (an A320). When I got to the gate that morning, the flight was overbooked and they were asking for volunteers to give up their seats for a $400 voucher. Just across the concourse there happened to be a 747-400, UA f...Jump to post

If and when MLB decides to expand which cities might be considered? Does anyone think a team in Mexico might be considered? RJs are the big reason I no longer fly into FWA (as FWA is served by nothing but regional carriers, all using these Barbie jets). For me, it's the 747 (my all time favourite) and the 787 (better pressurized, better air quality, and cuts down on jet lag feeling, plus I've managed to get premium seating each time I've flown on a 787).
As an avowed United hater, let me say this will be the rare time where I say right on United! Hey, he did buy an extra seat for the Peacock! So cool, who doesn't love Peacocks?
