The centre tray in club Europe was never taken out of aircraft where it was already fitted. It was only the new deliveries of 320/321neo where it wasn’t fitted so there are still plenty of aircraft with it still fitted
Jump to postNice to read some things are universal in crew life whichever airline you work for
Nice read, from one cabin crew to another
As someone who is wearing it (the male uniform) I have to say I do like it. It’s comfortable to wear, a much better cut than the old uniform and I think the three piece suit looks really smart. The ladies uniform looks ok. Sure it’s not the best uniform in the world and it’s not the worst but it doe...
Jump to postSin/Syd has a minimum 4 days off back at base ( this doesn’t not include the day you land back at LHR)
Yes it’s a love it or hate it trip. Not for me anymore, done my share over the years!!
The reasons for BA being weak in Asia are already being discussed in a thread you started earlier this month https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1481417 Oh right. Sorry for asking the same question, but was more of intending to ask a different question, will they expand into Asi...
Jump to postOf course I mean the 321, not 320!
Jump to postFlying with Starlux in business on the 320 in a few weeks. Looking forward to it. They look very professional
Jump to postIt might even be a temporary one or a rough idea for one as a new one is being filmed 1 February using BA staff which will feature the new uniform. There was an internal posting asking for people to send in an “audition” clip for filming 1 February
Jump to postIt was also flown on BA’s own 767 too. I did many trips there from LGW Nope, that was a US painted in BA colours with their own crew. https://simpleflying.com/british-airways-usair-boeing-767-lease/ He is talking about BA’s own 763s. BA has served CLT with BA painted USAir 762s, BA’s 777s, and BA’s...
Jump to postWell, BA did fly to CLT around 10 years ago but left. There isn’t really a need for BA to add the route on their metal when it American can do it themselves, and instead offer their own products rather than another airline’s products. BA is also a UK flagship airline, and there isn’t as much demand...
Jump to post….and passengers still look at me as if I’ve told them to chew their arm off when I go through the cabin asking them to put their seat belts on when we enter an area of turbulence.
Jump to postIt’s been confirmed today that Oman Air will join oneworld. Qatar Airways will be the sponsor airline and date of joining is expected to be in 2024.
That will make 3 Middle East based airlines in the alliance.
Nice catch. They look like a good quality airline.
Source oneworld website
ANC, CLT, DTW, and MSP are previous BA destinations that don't factor into the previous high count. Why doesn't BA do CLT? BA’s planes are generally too premium heavy for CLT. Did BA actually ever serve CLT on their own metal, or are we just counting the US 762ERs painted in BA livery? Yes BA did s...
Jump to postI agree that a lot of people still want the legacy experience, yourself an example, but I’d say most people make the price the most important consideration so that’s what legacy has to compete with.
Jump to postYou might want to consider not to fly anymore at all. Gruß, masi1157 Sorry I was not clear. I meant that if legacy offer same quality but at higher cost I do not fly legacy but low-cost. If the legacy was lower though than the low cost would you still not fly the legacy then? At the end of the day ...

Jump to postYes it was a shame you didn’t get everything. The main meal service should have been as per normal in world traveller plus but the second meal service isn’t quite up to standard yet.
You didn’t miss much on the safety video though. Most people find the current version annoying
At the moment the safety video isn’t being played on any flight. I think primarily it is because the video has no reference to having to take off your face mask, if you are wearing one, before putting on an oxygen mask. We have to do a visual representation of us taking off a face mask during the de...
Jump to postSo it seems despite all the moaning about Eurowhite liveries it turns out people do like them after all  You never heard me moan about them, in fact I liked them from the very beginning. Sure, some Eurowhite liveries are more beautiful than others but the concept has always been good. Before E...

Jump to post@jetskipper I’m guessing that is a highly desirable trip. The crews that would have been gone from home three days are now only away from base for 19-20 hours. Same pay, extra days off. I can assure you it is not a popular trip at all!! (and you actually get less money for it than you would a three...
Jump to postjumpjets wrote:OZperso wrote:Whatever happened to their Luanda route? It was formerly serviced with 788s and 789s?
If memory serves me right the Luanda route was flown mainly with four class 772ERs switching to the 789 in early 2018 a few months before the route was cancelled.
Boof02671, BA certainly did operate their own 767 to Charlotte. As I said I operated them myself as crew. We continued after US Air operated them for us.
Jump to postI was 767 crew from when I joined at LGW in ‘97 and was on it until they retired them a few years ago. So during that time I flew it to; New York JFK, Baltimore, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Nassau (continuing to Grand Cayman, or Turks and Caicos), Bermud...
Jump to postBA have actually just started a new tag on flight from LHR. The LHR-BAH flight now carries on to DMM

Thanks for any info
But there are no cheat lines on it and it doesn’t look like it’s from the 1970’s
Jump to postNot surprised to see the cancellation of Singapore, as others say, with the competition the yields were never going to be there to sustain profits even with high load factors. Rio won't be an easy market either - BA operate the 787 and use Mixed Fleet cabin crew on the route, it's a very cost-effec...
Jump to postYou seem to have lots of problems like this. Didn’t something similar happen with Lufthansa I remember you posting about
Jump to postI’m Crew with BA and I can tell you we definitely can not refuse to go to a destination and there are no premium payments for doing any flights.
When you accept the job you agree to go anywhere on the network
Yes when I'm working on the flights to/from India the majority of passengers are transferring to the US/Canada and we (BA) have crew bases in DEL, BOM, MAA, BLR.
There is no base in HYD but the BOM based crew work that route too.
There is no option for kosher wine or drinks on the flight, just the option to order a kosher meal. You will have to give 48 hours notice for a kosher meal onboard.
Jump to postYes they should be offered on all flights and are yours to keep. Most of the time I find passengers just leave their used ones on the seat after the flight and they are then thrown away
Jump to postIt's still "doors to manual and cross check" on BA
Jump to postBecause it's the destinations that the 787-9 fly to that are having a reduction in service over Thanksgiving weekend and not the 777 destinations.
Jump to postActually, a little off topic, but do BA, AF etc nightstop their crews in Tehran? Does anyone know if they nightstop!? Or operate it rountrip? I'm actually really interested to know! And back on topic, despite the fact that it was announced that the embargo was being lifted it seems as though under ...
Jump to postI've worked as BA crew for 19 years now and during my time we have never had a caviar offering.
Perhaps as a tiny garnish sometimes on say a salmon starter but not a separate caviar offering.
Unfortunately the Singapore base is closing this year, June or July time, and there are always Indian based crew on the India flights working alongside the London based crew.

Jump to postThere is no McDonald's in terminal 5.
You can buy sandwiches in pret a manger.
The child's meals on BA from Heathrow are normally chicken nugget type things, mashed potato and peas. Yoghurt, chocolate and fruit.
At the moment it's flying to Baltimore, Philadelphia, Nassau through to Grand Cayman,
Entebbe and Almaty. The number of longhaul 767's is getting less and less!
Depending on the season the 767 has been flying to Cairo
Some of the 777's do have overhead crew rest facilities, some have none and a few have this bunk area built in where seat 5K would be. I don't really know the reason for this variation and why <acronym title="British Airways">BA</acronym> didn't get them with the bunks factory installed but decided ...
