People on a.net have a hard time leaving emotions behind. AA cares about making money not legacies or traditions. Reality is NYC has become very competitive and crowded. It is in AAs best interests to cancel and reduce flights that lose money. Focus on other places that print money with those planes...Jump to post
UA seems to always be trying to fight back at hubs like DEN, LAX, ORD, and IAD. I find it surprising they fly out of LGA at all, especially LGA-MTJ. Concur that UA will do fine in DEN but not sure how they expect more growth from a city that's already overserved for its size (DEN is the 4th largest...Jump to post
The headquarters help boost these flights but they are not flying enough people to support these flights. These flights exist because they offer hundreds of one-stop connections, the HQs are just a nice bonus which makes them worth flying and profitable but not the sole reason these flights exist an...Jump to post
Sun country had to have known this was going to be a PR disaster. They could have been cheap and figured something out. This is going to cost them alot more than a charter flight, remember these people paid money. They would not loose the $100,000 or whatever for a charter flight it's that cost minu...Jump to post
Lets remember Frontier gave back gates which allowed Delta to move into A, and Southwest to gain more and control all of C. That was a really needed move for Southwest. They will continue to need more gates, but that really helped. Will Denver be a two hub airport YES. But both airlines do lots of c...Jump to post
Delta has such a PR opportunity.
Fly a plane down there and offer them $199 plus taxes to get home. The MSP media will love it and will be very cheap publicity! additionally they will win over some flyers to be loyal to delta forever.
SYR-BNA has to be because of a revenue guarantee or incentive or something. Allegiant loves to chase money, so it's not too shocking if the money was there. They sometimes operate routes It seems while the money is there and plan to pull out. I just allegiant would try EGE winter service I think the...Jump to post
PHL is not by any measure a small market. PHL is covered extremely well by AA to almost every major city in Europe at this point. The problem is AA can offer a N/S for almost all business travellers or people who will pay a premium for a N/S everyone else will fly the cheapest and connect. PHL is ju...Jump to post
Evening in , morning out of ORH would make more sense, let's hope that is what it becomes. If this mentioned morning schedule is accurate, it stinks for business travel. It could work for some leisure travelers as that is the only people who can make are from red eyes. LAX, LAS, SFO, SAN, PHX, SLC(s...Jump to post
If true Boeing really gave some huge concessions to pull this off. For Boeing selling at cost almost seems worth it to kill the 350 no? Keep AA with Boeing more and this really hurts the 350 program if true.Jump to post
AA really should start BTV-ORD
United charges crazy premiums for the non-stops
Seems like a decent try for AS. I think AA might retract. It's nothing against AA at all it's more they are small in SEA and are shrinking JFK. It's a very competitive market now. This changed recently, just a few years ago AA was a much larger player in the market the number of seats has skyrockete...Jump to post
SMF seems to be a growing area is that true? Is it people leaving SF, silicon valley, and LA because they are too expensive or is industry thriving there and driving traffic. High speed train is a long time away for Sacramento area maybe a few satellite gates are needed? Southwest will be the airlin...Jump to post
This only makes cents. AA makes more money at a fortress hub and NYC is extremely competitive . PHL provides alot more connection power too.
AA is being smart to share holders by reducing JFK, too much competition in the NYC area right now unless you have a competitive advantage.
These last few storms have been very very very crazy. A few miles can make all the difference in the world. EWR that last storm most areas just a few miles west got 24-26 inches. It's hard for the airlines to know as the line have been so close.Jump to post
And yet somehow on A.Net, all those that bashed UA last week will find a way to justify DL’s similar screw up. It’s like clockwork. 77H Delta needs to improve things too. I hope they do. The problem for united was a dog died on their flight. This was unacceptable, but it was just delayed. I 100% ag...Jump to post
It's insane they left all those monitors on???? Now they have to replace them but what a waste of electricity?
Wouldn't it be faster and easier to tear this disaster down and build something new?
I so think United deserves praise here. They caught the error and did smart thinking to stop at Akron on the way. United doesn't fly from STL to Akron and the stop was on the way. It was the best reasonable option as this looks like they care. If they flew the dog to STL they would have had to pay f...Jump to post
United Airlines......the public has an image in their head when you say that. Its not a good one right now. People think of animals dying, people being dragged down isles, bad customer service. SU does fly the 777-300 so there are people looking to fly this route. Yield is anyone's guess many ME3 connections to trash yields. 3x a week for HX doesn't seem to crazy though. Seems like something really important for their network. I think this is a better link than something in Western Europe ...Jump to post

I don't see any legacy adding hubs. Focus cities at most, and rub things thru existing proven hubs.Jump to post
It seems like this time regardless of what happened or why they are making it work. The 787 is probably a good choice in FC because the dog can just use one seat as a comfy bed with maybe some extra blankets on top, and its chaperone can have the seat nextdoor. Should be a pretty comfortable flight....Jump to post

Seems thru lots of practice they have gone to a very quick apologize, admit fault, and hope other news takes over the headlines approach. After Dr David Dao I bet they hired lots of firms and this is what they recommend. United seems to be an airline that needs a strategy for when the next problem h...Jump to post
Complaining on a plane to the Captain will get you thrown off the plane. This is what United has turned travel into. Most people are afraid to speak up, especially to the pilot. Hpw many times have we heard the pilot say to remove the passenger for safety reasons. Its time United stopped bullying i...Jump to post
This is making every national news tonight, another PR nightmare for united. Social media is heating up on this too.
United is in pure penny pinching mode , this is not the publicity they wanted now. Hope this never happens again, so unnecessary.
This is sad
Shocked it happened on United (sarcasm), what a train wreck that company is. Management should all be fired and replaced. How Oscar still has a job still is shocking, what a con artist.
They offer saga class, I think that is enough for a LCC.Jump to post
if they offer a LGW-GRU or LGW-GIG at the same price they are offering the LGW-EZE this would be a tentaption. They are offering LGW-EZE for US$ 362,00, while the cheapest offer from other airlines was Alitalia with US$ 1197,00... They are selling their product below cost to produce. This won’t las...Jump to post
Seems really unlikely for Hong Kong to come back. Only scenario I can see and it's s long shot is, UA changes the flight to LAX-HKG-SIN and that seems unlikely.Jump to post
Norweigan offers a really solid product. Hard to complain. Compared to Rogue the norweigan product and experience is light years better. Rogue has the edge of being established as a LCC for so long . Wish them luck, I do see them working might just be a challenge.Jump to post
What happened to Jetblue? The same thing that happens every bad weather event. They have two hubs 180 miles apart. They get the same bad weather, and no where to re-route traffic.Jump to post
Wind was a major issue today. The snow did hold off until later in the day but it was snowing pretty hard at Newark this evening visibility was pretty rough.Jump to post
It does seem like it's a fair time to bring back. AUS is growing, and is showing no signs of stopping. It has alot more to offer than any non hubbed city I think at this point. Delta seems like it has a RDU type focus city going I am surprised they don't try to expand a little more. They have no hub...Jump to post
Possible but DEN is very very competitive on airfares already. Competition is too fierce I'm afraid. I would say that idea would have been better for COS before frontier exploded down there. Too late now. EGE might work seasonally for them, I wish a LCC would get in there and shake up the crazy high...Jump to post
The good old days at CVG! Insane to think now you could travel non-stop to Anchorage or HNL. The non-stop European cities served is really impressive too,
Delta really had a place for CVG before the NWA merger. I remember connecting thru CVG as a child many times, memories.
Can anyone explain why/how EWR has so far been unaffected by this storm? I haven't seen any go-arounds or diversions yet and it's not like it's that far from JFK or even IAD which has been getting slammed. JFK and BOS are right on the water, EWR is not. Ewr is near Newark bay and the Hudson River b...Jump to post
Ewr to BTV, ALB, Scranton. United always cancels these routes first on any issues. Must be some plan to relieve congestion and these sites are unfortunately on it. All on the waiver, united continues it's tradition. At least you know early and can plan.Jump to post
The 321 also seems like the perfect plane to fish for incentives and offers. If CMH or CLE or PIT or some city offers you good money, they could make the most cents. I can see cities wanting LGW service or city that benefits their local business community and willing to find money for incentives. Wi...Jump to post
