I have no idea if this is true, but Alaska seems to have signed a pretty awful contract with Delta too. Maybe time they realize if you want to play with the big dogs need a larger team of lawyers, they are out for everything they can get.

Just another example to show a new building does not bring in new service. Airlines really don't care about facilities at spoke locations (unless its so bad it inter-fears with service) The new terminals usually do the opposite as expenses and costs go way up then you deter airlines. I bet we see some more large business makets and Asian origin traffic like IAD, PHL, IAH in not too much time. We saw ORD go in for the same reasons these cities would be served for business and to feed Asian flights. Delta seems really serious about making SEA work, i see them going all in.

They can fly it, but I Cannot see how this could actually make money. Sure there are passengers (whats the actual o&d a day i bet its highly seasonal too) Who is actually going to pay a premium for a non-stop, a few business travelers a day, this is not a market there is a ton of business traffic.

I think Delta only applies so they can make sure B6 doesn't get them. Each slot is worth alot to B6 and Delta knows it. They only run SLC-LGB and they love to be a thorn on that route, they could add another flight, they are easy fills. Pulling up a random Friday in July for SLC-LGB i see: B6 3x 320...

Cuba continues to rival the HND hype/bust situation.

I do agree though alot of airlines will probably want mia-hav so they can drop their longer flights but only for that reason. F9 is really number crunching these days must be really bad for them to bail so quick not even fly in summer.

This is such good news for COS. The airport needs some relief from way too high fares. This many flights to major cities will keep the legacy carriers more in check. That's alot of seats , which will really help.

Colorado Springs can support alot of seats a day. The problem is there is a huge spill into Denver. The issue is airfares are so cheap and there are so many non-stops out of Denver it's hard to compete. Also the airport south of the city doesnt help. I agree i am sure they dont want a focus city. It is similar to what we saw in Denver they wanted a few more gates to reduce congestion and delays and to add frequent enough service to SEA and LAX to give them a shot. I mean they are in a good location to make a WOW style connection hub with narrowbody across the atlantic. I see them actually doing pretty well. Its the legacy carriers that are gonna feel the pain of the ULCC and LCC across the Atlantic boom.

Isn't this the whole problem with only hubs in JFK and bos? They are gonna get the same storm at the same time, so close. The airline comes to a screeching hold when theirs a winter storm .
