The answer to this question may be obvious to many but it's not to me. Also, please forgive me if it's already been answered earlier in the thread. Isn't Spirit Aero Systems the real culprit here instead of Boeing....or is that yet to be established? Also, is there any connection between Spirit Air...
Jump to postMaybe a bit off topic, but why doesn't TAROM codeshare with DL and KLM? Seems to me that they could use the A318's as feeders through AMS and CDG from CLJ, TSR, IAS and other. Maybe not daily frequencies, but 2-3x weekly early morning departure to catch NATL traffic. I think it would be a no braine...

I don't know. I think I stick to DL. I am a Platinum Medalion with them, look like I will maintain status even after change. They still offer hands down the best overall service in my book; even though now I have to travel up to 8 hours to get to an airport with SkyTeam service towards the west.
Jump to postNever heard of it. Doubt there would be a market. It's incredibly rare that emergency medical flights are more than a few hours long. While long medical transportation flights exist, these are really moving stable patients. Intervention flights that are long are incredibly rare. This is especially t...

Jump to postThe stellar crew of TACA 110 landed a crippled 737-300 on a levee outside New Orleans without snapping off the gear. The plane was eventually flown out. This might be a case of misleading FMS range prediction when flying with gear down. Jump to postOK, so a bit more digging. Green hydraulic system loss looks like a given and reported by crew. Let's assume this is the case (confirmed by landing gear doors open, flaps down). Jump to postImpressive. Looks like a gear down landing on a field with the aircraft in one piece. Are we sure it isn't a runway overrun? I'm asking because I would have sworn that it's impossibe to land such an aircraft on such an unprepared field*) without ripping off the landing gear. But I'm happy to get co...

Jump to postA further examination of the images two things promote Green hydraulic system loss to massive leak, but still does not warrant landing in a field. 1. Landing gear door open 2. Jump to postFuel seems like a weird one. I thought Fuel is one thing they would have plenty of seeing as they are not able to export as much theses days... Jump to postWhile you can gravity drop the gear, flaps and slats are hydraulic with no alternate means of deploying them. Flaps and slats would surely have an electric alternate? Jump to postAny ideas about when Tarom's first MAX will go into production? I believe they expect 2 or 3 this year.
Jump to postThis is actually really bad for me I travel to MCO every 3 months and now have to add another connection. Wish it would have stayed even 1x weekly.
Jump to postIt looks like DL just pulled AMS from MCO. Any ideas what happened? My flights in April were all rescheduled. If they pulled AMS, I am guessing CDG doesn't stand much of a chance.
Jump to postMy guess, as the name suggests, the 737 is Maxed out. I don't believe you can squeeze much more improvement from that airframe. Given that as engine efficiency improves, so does engine size due to higher bypass ratio. The landing gear of the 737 Max was already redesigned to accommodate current gene...
Jump to postI think the EU have little choice given the sanctions. Jump to posthttps://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/eu-russian-airlines-ban-safety/index.html This is different than the ban of Russian aircraft.
