Great video of the last MH a350 delivery by Sam Chui...
Instrumentation shows a oew of 137.9t and this not the latest build standard which is even lighter.
I’m assuming JFK service. If so, will it be back on the LR or can the A350 make it? The 350 will be restricted to 32-33t payload on the worst headwinds from BOM but will burn a lot less fuel. The economics may favor the a350 but there could be market share being sacrificed. How is market share sacr...Jump to post

Is the above mentioned publication not well known to be anti Airbus? As far as survival of Airbus goes, none of the governments involved is going to let it collapse given the magnitude of jobs involved as well as the potential of a Boeing monopoly...Jump to post
The HA CEO's statements seem to make it just as likely that they will switch back to the a350 or stay on with the a338. I suspect what they may be looking for is a residual value guarantee from Airbus similar to what some a346 customers got.Jump to post

This cached version of a job opportunity on the Airbus website mentions the 251t variant... Airbus is possibly looking more seriously at rate 13 for the a350... so a a350f may not be out of the question now.

If Airbus Sales Chief says 7000nm then realistically you have to take out 20% to be safe so 5600nm. This means the 251T A330NEO from DXB can fly westwards up to YUL and eastwards till PER maximum. From LHR, it can fly up to HKG nonstop eastbound, it can cover the U.S. West Coast easily and southbou...Jump to post

I don't think this increase is really about range since it also doesn't come with any increase in fuel capacity. The A330-300 and B777-200ER/LR both carry 28 LD3s (or 11 and 11 pallets, respectively), but when coming up to 8 to 10 hours endurance with the 242t A330-300 one isn't going to come anywh...Jump to post

First of all, nice find. Secondly I'm not familiar targetjobs.co.uk. Are we sure it's not fake? I'm surprised Airbus would put so much detailed information in the job offer. Anyway I'll make a screenshot just in case the page gets deleted, like they did on the A350-2000. https://imagr.eu/up/hqbYX_S...Jump to post
This job description probably reveals more than what Airbus intended :) http://targetjobs.co.uk/employer-hubs/airbus/469896-wing-engineering-internship MTOW increase to 251t(was spoken about earlier this year). First flight target 2019. This should put the aircraft firmly in the long haul segment.Jump to post
The a330neo is still in line for a big order from MAS... http://t.co/wUp5qK9j74 “I think the A330neo will be a super plane, and we are still very much talking with Airbus,” the CEO said by telephone, adding that he plans to meet with the Toulouse, France-based manufacturer toward the end of next wee...Jump to post
I think the tire incident was with the second aircraft which is still in ATL after a week now... Kirby was skeptical about operating a small fleet of a350's just a few days back and suddenly the airline feels just 10 more will make it viable? So Kirby solved that issue by ordering 10 more, hence the A350 is no small fleet anymore :stirthepot: I suspect Kirby wanted the additional 10 birds &quo...Jump to post

The episode supposedly occurred during windshear and rain.... The second time this has happened to the a359( TG had a excursion in Phuket). I know this may be a very dumb question but I will ask it nevertheless to our resident a350 pilots- Is this aircraft difficult to land in challenging conditions?Jump to post
Oh I didnt know that the A333 was also now part of the P2F program which I'm really happy it is now ! How many tons can the A333F uplift? As the B77F does 101T and MD11F has 80. You can find the relevant data for the a33p2f here http://www.elbeflugzeugwerke.com/fileadmin/pdfs/EFW_T_A330-300_200_P2F...Jump to post
We also have as a reference point the Airbus Firefighting Guide which lists the OEW as 140,000kg for the A350-900. We also have the TAM flight planning segment on this video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVM8XZaZ5ok - which lists DOW at 139.5t. This suggests oew for MSN21 onward at around 135-136t.Jump to post
