I’m assuming JFK service. If so, will it be back on the LR or can the A350 make it? The 350 will be restricted to 32-33t payload on the worst headwinds from BOM but will burn a lot less fuel. The economics may favor the a350 but there could be market share being sacrificed. How is market share sacr...

The HA CEO's statements seem to make it just as likely that they will switch back to the a350 or stay on with the a338. I suspect what they may be looking for is a residual value guarantee from Airbus similar to what some a346 customers got.

The unofficial a350 production list says it is so take it for what its worth. The twist appears to be part of the fuel burn reduction that comes with the ULR...part of it is the engine and the balance is from aero improvement.

I don't think this increase is really about range since it also doesn't come with any increase in fuel capacity. The A330-300 and B777-200ER/LR both carry 28 LD3s (or 11 and 11 pallets, respectively), but when coming up to 8 to 10 hours endurance with the 242t A330-300 one isn't going to come anywh...

We also have as a reference point the Airbus Firefighting Guide which lists the OEW as 140,000kg for the A350-900. We also have the TAM flight planning segment on this video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVM8XZaZ5ok - which lists DOW at 139.5t. This suggests oew for MSN21 onward at around 135-136t.
