EWR could serve the current or even more TATL service with an emphasis on O&D. So, UA can move small market feed into IAD vs. EWR to free up EWR for more profitable O&D services with 737 and larger aircraft. For example, surely 3 NB instead of 6 RJs PIT-EWR plus 3 NB EWR-Mid Con or Transcon...

I thought they entered duty time at the 9pm flight from the hub, and fly the 6am flight too
Within duty time but way low flight hours if the flight is 1:30h

I know United has their numbers and motives, but I cant understand the South African gauge changes.

It’s last two quarters of 2022 averaged out daily revenue. Strange figures. IAD-BRU on 59k revenue, daily served with 77W, 700 seats per day, estimated 85% load so 600 PAX/day. Even if the alliance is metal-neutral, there are formulas which split revenues and costs which can favor the operating airline
