Re: Is UA the only US carrier to serve both the DC and NY market?

Why most of US folks only think of long haul flying when thay say "international" ?

AFAIK in the rest of the world an "international" flight is the one where you go outside the borders, in other words, everywhere you need to carry a passport to fly to.

Re: What will Lufthansa do with their 789s?

20 frames are not enough to be splitted around all the LH group brands. If Lufthansa fly them I see they keeping them all, don't see an LH sub-fleet of 10 or 12 789 with such a large long haul network. A split is likely if LH is out of it, so going to LX and OS (8/12 or 10/10). 748's still have a lo...

Meanwhile, KLM will lose business to Lufthansa on service to Bangalore. BLR is served daily by LH with a B748 with first class (flights by LH to BOM do not have first class as they are on the B744). After BOM and DEL, I would argue that BLR is the most premium destination in India. KLM needs to max...

If Iberia was to grow in USA serving a new market then I’d place my bet on IAD-MAD by Iberia. IB did serve IAD few years back and it failed, IIRC it was never daily and it was at the time IB only long haulers were A340's. I think it's a long shot even on the A332 and A359, UA runs seasonal on a 752.
