Re: Boeing provided Monarch with $130 million bailout

I very much doubt Airbus will have anything to say about this, a few years back when US was in trouble Airbus did the similar deal, providing a short term cash injection as part of a large refleet deal, same as a few years back in order to secure a deal with U2 to switch from 737 to 320 Airbus did ...

Re: Has Boeing taken the 737 too far?

What I find most ironic is that the 757 came later than the 737 and yet died earlier. The 737 has been in production over twice as long as the 757 and is still in production. Perhaps the 739 and 73X wouldn't be here today if Boeing had updated the 752 in the late 1990s instead of developing the 753...

Please for God's sake no. It's bad enough s it is and there really isn't a lot that can be done, even with a new west terminal. A train ala DFW between terminals would be a must. I would think that the 777 wing fabrication center could also be used to produce cfrp wings for the MOM and NSA when they are launched. 2 questions that arise from reading a couple clicks from the story you link to another one at (http://www.sunshineskies.com/atlanta-midfield-terminal.html). 1) Anyone notice the resemblance of that L-1011 in the Eastern ad to the nose of a 787 or A350? Or is that just me? 2) When was the "exclu...

I don't think it solely applies to the widebody market, the narrowbody A320/B737 may prove even more problematic for manufacturers. 60/mo productions rates are worrying, but more so for the parts suppliers who are going to have increasing price pressure from the glut of second-hand parts.
