Per crew update this afternoon, UA says they hope to operate "near full" schedule at IAH by September 19th, pending "staffing and resource levels" along with "better feel for traffic demand". I guess today only about ~55% of scheduled staffing showed up for work at IAH...

Looks like TK33 is the only long haul bound for IAH,according to Flightradar24. yup... Westjet from YYC and Alaska from SEA are the other notable flights....everything else is UA to the hubs (and one to St.Pete) and DL flights. I haven't seen any AA flights but I believe they are supposed to start ...

I think that's a little ambitious. While some on here think that the damage was minimal and the flood waters have receded, there are still whole entire communities in the Houston area that are still underwater. Do we have an estimate or number of planes still on the ground in IAH and HOU? Slowly planes have been leaving IAH. Is Eva still stuck there? They were one of the last non relief flights to fly into IAH. I guess they probably are regretting the decision to not divert like most international flights...

Not sure I understand. If we're talking WN, they have DAL, but that airport is maxed out. DFW is pretty much full too, certainly not enough space to pick up the slack for IAH/HOU. UA is most likely going to have to do without IAH as a hub for a few weeks. For them, that means more ops at their near...

MSY itself was rather totaled by Katrina to the point they needed to rebuild parts of the terminal. No it didn't. Katrina barely touched MSY airport.
