Re: Impact of a major Israel-Iran escalation on Middle Eastern aviation

For the moment QR and EK are traversing the region like its business as usual Something tells me Israel either not give a warning, or will issue a backchannel one, with those countries ...

Re: Impact of a major Israel-Iran escalation on Middle Eastern aviation

Iranian airspace is effectively closed for many operators, even before this escalation. Right now only Air Arabia, Fly Dubai, Emirates, Air China, Qanot Sharq, EVA, Turkish, Air India, and PIA have aircraft in OIIX/THR FIR. That list isn't much different from a few hours ago. Even Qatar is staying ...

Correct. The only flights that are impacted at this time are US West Coast-Persian Gulf flights as those use Iranian and Russian Airspace at times. It would be amazingly disruptive to the ME3, who utilize Iranian airspace regularly. Iraqi airspace would be "conditional" as well, as long as an Israel-Iran conflict were ongoing. It would devastate the ME3's flights to Europe and North America.
