I just had the chance to fly on Korean Air on December 26th and again on the 11th of January. On Dec. 26th, I flew from Chicago to Seoul-Incheon on KE 38 to visit my girlfriend. I have never flown on an Asian Airline before, but wow! The service was excellent. I am starting this thread for all of us A.netters to share our wonderful experiences on Korean Air (´ëÇÑ Ç×°ø in romantic letters: Taehan Hanggong if you want to see it, change the language coding to Korean so it shows up.) I am adding a picture of one of the meals offered on that flight, the second meal I wasnt able to photograh, because my battery died. I am also adding many pics while enroute and on the approach to Seoul-Incheon Airport. While waiting to board, I saw the crew for the flight come to the gate. They had 3 Captains, 3 FO's, 3 Flight Engineers, 4 Pursers, and about 30 flight attendants that all were drop dead gorgeous. I have never seen a crew that large for the 747-400. When I flew LH from JFK-FRA, there was only one Captain, one FO, and one Flight Engineer, 2 Pursers, and like only 20 or 25 flight attendants, but that flght was only for 7 hours and 30 minutes. The flight from Chicago to Seoul was 16 hours and 10 minutes.

Getting closer to the Korean Peninsula as we pass directly over Harbin, Peoples Republic of China about 12 hours 30 minutes into the flight with about 3 hours and 30 minutes left in route. Right after that was taken, the changed course and flew towards Dalian and the direction of Beijing, in order to fly around North Korea. :



Just North of Dalian as they slowly start to turn a little bit southeast towards the Republic of Korea:

Waiting to Board KE 037 to Chicago at gate 14 in the Incheon Airport on January 11th Korean time at around 10:45 am. The bording time was at 11:30 am and Departure around 12:00 pm.:

First meal about 2 hours into the flight and about 12 hours and 30 minutes left:



About a hour before we were served the second meal, we were given a small slice of Pizza, which was a good snack and it tasted really good!
Here is the second meal about 8 hours and 30 minutes into the flight and about 6 hours 30 mintues left. There was also a Soybean Paste soup that was served along with this, which was really good. :



We landed in Chicago at 9:15 am Central time or 12:15 am Korean time. In both directions, they constant served beverages. When you press the flight attendant call button, a flight attendant wound show up almost instantly and if it took long for them to get to you they would always be very apologetic. I highly recommend Korean Air for any and all of your travels to Asia, even though it sometimes might be higher than an American Airline to fly to Asia. After all, you get what you pay for. My ticket cost me $1,535 Rochester to Chicago on American then onto Korean Air whereas Northwest would have cost about $1,000 Minneapolis to Seoul with a connection in Japan. I highly recommend flying on Korean Air because going direct makes it much easier and its easier on you for Jet lag because you don't have as many stops or have to wait about 3 hours in Japan for a connection like on Northwest or United.

I will be flying on Korean Air again on July 25th on KE 906 from Frankfurt to Seoul. I am doing a study abroad in Germany from March to beginning of July. Then on July 25th, I will then fly back to Korea again on Korean Air because this fall I will be studying at my girlfriend's University from the end of August to the beginning of January 2008. I will post a trip report for that flight as well.
