I just got my airliners.net membership. Now I try to write my first trip report about my flight to the USA during my summer holidays.

Date: 11th June 2006
From: Frankfurt (FRA)
To: Philadelphia (PHL)
Boeing 767-200ER
Seat: 4A
This summer I wanted to visit some friends in Providence. I checked flights with different airlines and finally I decided to fly US Airways, because they had the best connection with a just two hour layover in PHL and I can collect Miles for my Miles and More Card.
My parents brought me to the airport. When we arrived at the airport, the first I saw:
Flight US 893 -- two hours delayed.
I thought, great my flight is two hours delayed and my layover time in PHL is two hours. But the friendly check-in agent told me, don't worry you will get your connection to PVD, the plane is now just one hour delayed. And she was right. Our scheduled departure time was 12.55 and about 2.00p.m we stand ready for takeoff next to the runway. Finally, we arrived in PHL just 10 minutes after the scheduled arrival time. Good job!

The end of continental Europe -- somewhere over The Netherlands
Before take off I was welcomed with a drink and got the menu card to choose my meal. Sorry, but I don't remember the different meals. The lunch was served about one hour after takeoff.
The service onboard of US Airway is really great. The cabin crew was very nice and helpful and the meals were very delicious.
The cabin of the US 767 is old, but the service and the crew is a lot better compared to some other transatlantic airlines with better seats.
On the way back, I flew onboard the A330-300 with the new Envoy Class seats and new entertainment system, which was a bit more comfortable.

So this is the first part of my trip report. When I have time I will write the report about the return flight from PVD via CLT to FRA on board the A330-300.

Welcome to A.net; a great trip-report you've written here, and the pictures along with it are just awesome; the place you see exiting the Netherlands is Hoek van Holland (Hook of Holland) just south of the city of Den Haag (The Hague) and you can well see the glittering green-houses, well known for this area. The islands towards to top of your pictures is looking towards the province of Zeeland (Sealand)...great shot !!!

I know...they don't even have them on the A330! I flew PHL-FCO-PHL this past August and September, and thought the flights were so-so. I upgraded to Envoy Sleeper Seats on the FCO-PHL segment, which was ok, but eventually the seat started malfunctioning towards the end of the flight.
Most airlines have the moving map...but not US. Drove me nuts!
Anyway...great report, thanks for posting, and welcome to the A-Net jungle!
At the first view, the seats doesn't look much invitig, but they are very comfortable for the 7 1/2 hour flight from FRA to PHL. But compared to the other transatlantic airlines I flew (DL and LH ) the service where much better and the employees where more helpful and friendly. I think thats more important than a lieflat seat
