Hey a.netters. I hope you enjoy my report!

Friday, March 17, 2006
US Airways #3673
Schd / actual departure: 3:15 / 3:15 (left gate)
Schd / actual arrival: 4:12 / 3:49 (on ground)
Aircraft: Canadair CL-65

boarding was quick and easy, as always, at Ithaca. I had a seat in the very last row of the aircraft, looking towards the left.

legroom was fantastic on this tiny jet. I had not encountered this on my other segments between ITH and PHL, which were all turboprops.

this turboprop parked next to us departed for Pittsburgh.

A Northwest Saab 340 landed from Detroit and taxied to the terminal, as the flight to PIT took off.

after taxiing and holding a while short of the runway, we quickly turned onto it, sped up and lifted off. pretty bumpy takeoff. sorry for the glare!

the area around ithaca airport. love the lack of snow!

after turning left, ithaca airport is visible.

quick flight to PHL, maybe 30-35 minutes, before we started our quick descent. here is a view of philadelphia

more philadelphia

descending

on the ground.

coming to a quick stop

after deplaning at the jetway, i took a quick shot of the plane in the new livery. gotta say, i actually prefer the old one.  Sad

continued my journey, after eating some delicious airport food of course, to LAX. i had an aisle seat on this one, and got no food on board, so before the designated window seat person came i took a quick shot of the view

and, of course, why anyone comes to LA

lol. thanks for reading my report, i hope you enjoyed it!

Yep. In n' out is the reason why everyone goes to LA...(thats true at least for the members on this forum  Smile)

But seriously...The in n' out at LAX is a VERY good location!

Good report. How strong were the headwinds from PHL-LAX?

Nice report....

who is operating the ITH-PHL portion? I'm glad to see it's not on a Beech 1900 anymore. When I was with US, it was Air Midwest operating them.

A330Fan1, thank you for this report!!!  Smile

I lived in Ithaca for 8 years before moving to SLC, and I have some very fond memories of that little airport. I remember I used to go and sit at the little tables in the terminal for hours, watching the CO ATR 42/72s and US Air DC-9s (I loved those  Sad )

I even remember the day we got a US Air 737, I thought that nothing could be better. I also remember when an F-18 visited, I got to watch it take off....ahh sweetness!  cloudnine

It's good to see that ITH gets something besides little turboprops, also good to see that NW is still going with their relativly new Saab service.

Thank you for this walk down memory lane!  cloudnine

I'm glad you all enjoyed my report!

Tommy767: from PHL-LAX, we hit some turbulence and, I'm guessing, that's why we arrived at LAX about 15-20 minutes late. And actually, that particular in-n-out is 2 blocks from my home!  Smile but yes the one at LAX is fantastic!

Nkops: Air Wisconsin Express operates ITH-PHL (I'm almost 100% sure)

FlightShadow: glad to bring back memories! I love ITH b/c you can get there 10 minutes before flight is scheduled and still be on time! haha. CO is no longer an operator here  Sad. Right now, USAirways flies to PHL and LGA, limited service to PIT, and NWA to DTW. I'd like to try the NWA to DTW once, but fares with NWA to LAX are always significantly higher than US! glad that you liked the report.

Will try to take more pics LAX-PHL-ITH this weekend.

Glad to see ITH posts...I should post one for my next trip to LAS on Thurs.

Air Wisky runs the CRJ's to PHL, PHL also has DH8A's
Colgan the SAAB (slaab) 340's to LGA

CO just started DH8B service last Thursday to EWR 4x daily

NW now has 1 CRJ and 1 SAAB340 to DTW daily as well.

Good things are happening at the Ithaca-Tompkins Regional Airport haha.
