Ok, thought I would finally do the return report from my flight last year
Date: 17/10/03
Flight: MYT278 TFS-MAN
Scheduled Departure Time: 1650
Actual Departure time: 1800 (roughly)
I knew prior to leaving the hotel that it was highly probable that the flight would not be operated on a MYT a/c due to the DC-10-10s having been retired. The outbound flight was operated on a European Air Charter 747-200 which was a nice surprise so I was kind of expecting to be on one of those again. However, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
After we checked in at the checkin desks, we proceeded directly into the departure hall, which was in a wee bit of a state due to construction work being carried out. So, immediatly I proceeded to the bar for a quick pintore the flight, turned out to be more like a jug than a pint
Looked out the windows and seen that the a/c parked at the gate for the flight back to Manchester was an Air Plus Comet A310-300, so a new a.c type for me.
Other a/c that I seen included 2 x TCX 757-300s, 2 x EUK 747-200s, DME IL-96, Kras Air Tu204, Iberia 757, loads of Spanair MD83s, Futura 737s and Iberworld 320s. Also G-SWJW, the Air Scandic A300 that I had flown on from NCL-TFS-NCL a few years earlier.
Time to board the a/c where I was met by a whole host of beautiful Spanish FA's Air Plus Comet must have some of the most beautiful air stewardesses in the world
Unfortunatly I had been asigned a middle seat and the seating was quite cramped compared to the EAF 747. Although the FA's more than made up for the discomfort . Seating layout was 2-4-2 and the 310 had capacity for 255 passengers.
Take off was from runway 26 and I was surprised about how powerful the 310 was on takeoff, we had departed just after a Monarch A300 which I think had been going to LGW.
On the climbout the people on the RHS of the a/c got a good view of Mount Teide (I was able to see some of it from my seat).
Food was extremly nice and soft drinks were provided for free Although I had to pay 1 Euro for the beer, although it was pretty nice.
Inflight movie shown was the new version of the Italian job.
4 hours later and descent into Manchester had begun, with the lights switched off for landing, we landed on runway 6L and slowed down very quickly. Interesting a/c noted included a VS 744, Aeris 767 which was stored at MAN and EAF 732, which had operated MYT999 from TFS-MAN about 30 mins before my flight.
Landing was just before 10pm.
We got off the the a/c went through the mess that was T1 and collected the baggage and went home.
MyTravel have definitly got a good choice in sub airlines that they use when a.c go tech or retired.
Next flights are XLA 738 MAN-DLM-MAN and TCX 753 MAN-TFS-MAN
Feel free to ask any questions
When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army Boys, we'll be coming down the road!

I agree with your statment regarding the flight attendants.
Here in YYC we get MYT from MAN as well and for a while they had air plus op the flight for them using the 742. As a ramp agent here in YYC, i hate grooming, and most of the time rookies get to groom the flight. However once i heared the flight attendants were very good looking, i offered to groom.
Lets just say, for the rest of the Air plus flights we had, i groomed every time
