HI all, I posted this message in the Hobbys section and no one was able to help, I hope someone here might be able to!!
Hello all,
I hope this is the right place and also that I am not asking a question which has been replied to here a million times before!!
The scanner I have is a handheld Radioshack PRO-82 which a friend brought back from the USA for me.
I live about 5 miles from Cork airport as the crow flies which makes it ideal for listening to ATC flying into Cork. Already I have tuned in my scanner to what I think are the three main frequencies into Cork airport and I have heard loads of ATC talk very clearly.
The three frequencies are as follows:
119.3ooo CIVIL TOWER/RADAR
121.8ooo CIVIL GROUND
119.9ooo CIVIL APPROACH
I wonder could anyone advise if there is other frequencies coming into Cork that I would be able to hear ATC traffic on?? The list I am getting these frequencies from is here http://www.esatclear.ie/~derekhaughton/air.htm
which gives all the frequencies for all the ATC in Ireland.
Also, is there any other ATC traffic that I may be able to pick up in Cork with my handheld scanner?? Such as traffic flying over the country going trans continental. They tend to fly right over my house as I can see a lot of planes on a clear day. Would these flights be transmitting on the SHANWICK frequencies??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am a complete novice when it comes to scanner but am a complete nut about planes! This site is probably the site I visit most often on the internet!
Thanks in advance,
Eoin
