At the risk of this turning into another "when will they fold" thread, does anyone have any information or even opinions on their current operation?
On one hand, Maxjet, whilst never a direct competitor because of differences in product, has been gone for some months which certainly can't hurt their ability to maintain or improve market share.
On the other you now have CO/DL (and probably US/NW to a lessor extent) adding competition with their NY-LHR flights. Again, these are not direct competitors but they do add significant capacity in the market.
They would seem to be in a more robust position than the other "premium" carriers ( Silverjet, L'avion from Paris) for a couple of reasons;
1) They are more established and would therefore have had more time to build a solid customer base and market share.
2) Secondly, they seem to have a far better suited aircraft to this kind of market than Silverjet in the B757, which needs lower load factors to maintain a viable operation and is still a sought after and competitive aircraft.
3) They actually seem to have a good product, certainly one which competes with the likes of AA/UA/DL/CO.
On the other hand;
1) They still operate from STN. Not a bad airport in its own right but still in some respects a disadvantage over LGW/LHR ( not exactly SIN or HKG I know ) if only from a customer perception point of view and an arguably smaller catchment area
2) Whilst undoubtedly a great aircraft, the B757 is really only good for east coast - western Europe flights. This limits potential expansion to anything other than markets which are in the main already overserved. Adding a second fleet type (B763ER??) at this stage to allow flights to/from the west coast, MIA etc. would seem to be suicide.
3) $110 oil. This one speaks for itself.
I know this is a very basic collection of thoughts. Please feel free to add to them and correct me where required.

Given their expansion fron one flight to several on JFK-STN, then EWR to STN, JFK to Paris & STN to Dubai they seem to be OK. I know people who will only fly EOS, they have to be GOOD.

I have flown Eos many times and love their product. It's is better than VS and AA in my mind as the service is ver personal and the food is better by leaps and bounds. This last time I flew them, I noticed that they had changed their menu to coincide the people's eating habits. it really shows me that they care about their customers. This is something that I can't say about the other competitors. That said, I hve not flown on Silverjet so I cannot compare them here.
The checkin gate areas now have a very classy style to them and it really beefs up their adage of being uncrowded and uncompromising.
The 757 seems to suit them very well and the loads have been very high on many of my flights which is always a good sign. As long as the service can stay at this level, I will continue to fly them time and time again to Europe. I am also going to try them to Dubai later this year. It should be interesting to see how Eos competes with Emirates. I usually just fly EK direct from JFK to DXB but have to get the Eos route a shot.
I wish them luck with all of the expansion that is planned. I just hope we see some of their 757's with winglets!
