Looks like SWA flight 2329 was called off for some reason last night.. It was lined up on 24R, but that sucker almost took my roof off as it turned north over my house.

Any idea what the reason was for the call off??....and if it had anything to do with AirForce One being there, for President Bush's fund raising deal in Brentwood?

I watched AF1 take-off and saw no go-arounds done. Unless WN did a go around before AF1 left the remote gates, then it was not the cause.

The time fo the go around was approx. 18:24. Not sure if it was the issue, just know that AirForce One, and a bunch of military heicopters were in the area, and in the airports airspace at the time.

I don't know the exact time that AF1 departed, but from taxi out from remotes till the departure, there was no go-around that I witnessed.

Go-arounds at LAX are not exactly an uncommon occurence, irrespective of AF1 being there or not. It could have been almost anything, like an aircraft ahead missing an assigned hi-speed taxiway and staying on the runway longer until he could reach the next one, causing a potential/actual loss of separation for the aircraft landing, hence the go-around to avoid that situation. I tend to think that if AF1 were involved with the situation, you'd have seen the 2329 go off and hold somewhere, but as Flightaware's track shows, 2329 did a right turn and came right back around in the pattern.

Carelessness and overconfidence are usually far more dangerous than deliberately accepted risks.
