After being shortchanged by CO on my elite miles I have decided to start giving some of my business to other airlines. I will be traveling with B6 to Houston next week. So far the online booking is excellent. Will give a feedback when I get back.
JetBlue is simple. Nothing fancy, but the service is good and friendy. The E190 is a much better ride. More leg room, wider seat, bigger IFE screen.. and you'll have XM Radio.

I can't complaint too much about B6, have had a good experience everytrime I've flown with them. But they seem to a lot of delays on the SJC - JFK route. Of the 6 time I've flown it its been delayed 3 times. But aside from that its been good service was great and the PTVs help to pass the time.

Well I am back and want to share my experience flying with B6 on this forum. I think B6 is a great airline and will be around for a long time to come. The planes, service, staff are excellent. I think they need to work on their image though. the fare are very, very inexpensive, but the service is first class, therefore they need to get rid of the cheap airline image they have. Their slogan should be "our fare may be cheap but we're not". I thought the Direct TV thing was a great touch. It felt like I was in my living room watching TV. Of course, the legroom is probably the best in the business especially in the back of the plane.
We ran into trouble on the way back, where some genius busted the main door trying to close it ( I wonder if that was an accident, How dare those yankees come to our backyard and steal this business away from us!! This is Southwest airline country!). This delayed the flight by 4 hours, but the ground crew was excellent in handling the situation, especially Scott (did not get his last name). B6 should hold on to this guy before he moves to another airline. By the time we left, every single passenger was thanking him for how he handled the situation. Of course, they offered food and gave every passenger a voucher worth the cost that flight. I have been in this kind of situations with other airlines before, and almost always we were on our won.
I have two slightly negative comments about B6. B6 operates our of JFK on most of their flights, It is quite a long ride to the airport from Jersey. The Houston route is a very lucrative route, and I am sure it will be for B6 out of EWR if they manage to get slots there. The other point is the baggage area at JFK. It is crowded and cramped. It reminds of Laguardia airport. I hope their new terminal is more spacious.

Thanks for the kind compliments. I'm sorry we had that problem. Thanks for your business and sticking by!

Yeah, that's their thing, flying out of JFK. I flew them a while back from IAD to OAK. I hated the trek to IAD but i was really curious to fly B6. I will be happy when/if they ever start flying BWI. I know, I know, no chance of that happening.

^It'll be amazing. I've never had a bad experience with B6 and don't plan to. I even heard once of a friend who booked her flight and a week later the fare was a good bit cheaper...sure enough she called and B6 gave her the difference for use on a future flight. Maybe that's not uncommon, but I thought it was impressive.
My next B6 trip is IAD-FLL in January...can't wait!
And my only complaint is where they're based. I'd work for them when I graduated if I could (I'm an engineer), but don't really want to live in the NYC area. Oh well!
