Dear a.netters,
I will be in Beijing in July and I want to fly from Beijing to Hong Kong on 17JUL (+/1 day would do).
I never booked any chinese domestic flights and I don't have a lot of informations what is flying around there.
However I did some homeworks and I realized that it is much cheper to fly to Shenzhen or Guangzhou than to Hong Kong directly. I also was advised that elong is a good source for cheap flights.
This is the only site I know that has good rates. Are there any other?
Until now I only used elong to find some flights. I realized that there is a special offer on China Eastern, which costs 900 Yan incl. Tax for a flight to Shenzhen. But as of 1st of July this offer is not available any more. Does anybody knows if it has been extended and can be booked somewhere else?
I also saw a good rate with Sichuan Airlines for approx 1000 Yuan, however this requires an overnight stay at Chengdu airport (arrival 1 am, departure 7 am), and I'm not keen on sleeping in a Chinese airport overnight (is this even allowed?).
I realized that prices are usually cheaper if booked a few days in advance rather than being booked long time in advance. Usually there is a discount for last minute. Is this usual in China? Here in Europe it's exactly the opposite....
Last but not least, are there any low cost carrier which sell cheap tickets through their websites serving Shenzhen or Guangzhou? Does anybody knows another good website for booking Chinese flights or does anybody knows a good connection on 17jul (+/- 1)? I don't care if I need to buy to tickets, connect at the end of the world etc...
Thanks a lot for your help. Although I travel and fly a lot, chinese domestic flights are completely new to me...I'm quite confident that I can find people all over the world here which have some information that could help me out!

I think you would want to fly a safe airliner.
go with FM aka Shanghai airlines. you will need to connect thru Shanghai but most flights are
B763 domestic on that route. And they have a lot more space in economy than other Chinese domestic carriers.
