For $69 on BOS-MCO I'd consider it - it's roughly a 3 hour flight, so it comes out to be a little over $20/hour. Considering you're getting drinks (including free alcohol), snack basket that in my experience was being handed out continuously, first one on/off the plane (grab overhead space/get to baggage claim faster or on your way faster) and the wider seat (I think seat pitch on FL is a bit tight, so it'll help in Business Class), it's not a bad investment.

I took that exact flight 2 weeks ago in Y. Seat pitch was great, they did 2 drinks rounds, and on the 2nd they gave me a full-sized can of Coke! Most of us got 4 bags of Pretzels and the flight time was abour 2hr 20min. A great flight and very comfortable so unless you plan to drink $69 worth of booze, Y is fine!! (we also arrived in MCO 30mins early so only problem was waiting for a gate)

I have never been on AirTran. But I must admit I am a fan of business class flights. All of my long haul flights within the last 7 years have been in business class and I don't want to miss it. Maybe the Y class is fine on AirTran, but I'd still prefer the business class. But that's only my opinion

Yesterday I flew Air Tran PNS-ATL-DFW. It was my first flight on the 717 PNS-ATL. The seats were very hard. I liked the sound of the engine, however.
I had a 4 hour layover (by choice) and decided that I would upgrade my 737 flight ATL-DFW. So I did, for $69, which I think is reasonable. Then a storm hit ATL and my 4 hour layover turned into a 7-hour one. I was very tired and glad to have the nice, wide, comfortable seat.
The seats are made by Recaro, and they are comfortable, but they compare to AA's 757 rather than the newer F seats on AA's S80 and 738s. Still, I got 3 drinks (one pre-departure then two after takeoff) which helped to put me to sleep for a good hour before we landed at DFW at 12:45, so I got some sleep, which I wouldn't have in Y.
