Hard question to answer, as in my opinion, most things capable of flying are at least to some extent beautiful. If pushed for an answer, I still don't know what I would say. Maybe the ATR-42 and ATR-72, but they're still pretty cool.

You have to be kidding. A beautifully-proportioned aeroplane that just looks like it was born to fly.

I formally nominate the Brewster Buffalo:

Big version: Width: 800 Height: 401 File size: 43kb
Brewster Buffalo-the worst fighter of World War II

By all accounts, it flew as bad as it looked, and it's success as a fighter in World War II was less than stellar  Wink

This one came to my mind first:

PZL has produced a few notably ugly planes, too, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Yep. I've yet to see an aircraft that looked ugly. A lot of the ones mentioned above are actually INTERESTING looking. When we're all sick to death of the sight of underwing twinjets, we'll appreciate these aircraft even more.

The Concorde. Too long for its length, wings flimsy looking, engines encased in square boxes, and that silly pointy nose that has to droop just to land or take-off. Don't get me started on the interior. Cramped, dated seats, tiny windows, perhaps the ugliest interior in the last 30 years. The whole thing was an abomination.

Ever since I discovered the M-15 back in 1998, I've truly wanted to purchase and import one for myself. In a perfect world, I'd install amphibious floats and frequent the airshow circuit, just for the shock value.  Wink
