As the title implies, which airline does have the best IFE in your opinion. I've heard that Emirates has a fantastic ICE system. From my experience KLM, British Airways and Qantas have good IFE, PTV in Y class with AVOD. I have also heard that Singapore Airlines have excellent IFE. Which airlines do you think are in the top five for best IFE (PTV with AVOD)?

For me...
1. KLM (777-200ER)
2. British Airways (777-200ER)
3. Qantas (747-400ER)
4. Northwest Airlines (A330-300)
5. Continental (777-200ER)

Emirates ICE system is horrid it never seems to work. The crew always try to reload the screens and the system to no avail. I like Virgin Atlantics VPORT apart from the odd glitch it works very well with a good selection of movies etc and very easy to use

Fun aside, but I believe that EK with its ICE is very much on top.  Smile

ICE sure is great, I wanted that home. Ranked number one also by SkyTrax 2007.

I have flown emirates 18 times over the past 3 months. of those 18 flights the ICE system worked at my seat 6 times 4 times had to be reloaded and worked 8 times reloaded did not work. this is a very big problem fro emirates apparently. the system is unreliable therefore not my vote

What's sad is the only airline I've been on with IFE is F9, and that cost $5 just to watch TV for two hours. WN's magazine's fun to read...  duck

Interesting no one has mentioned Singapore Airlines. They do have an amazing IFE on the Airbus 380 and the Boeing 777-300ER. I didn't have any problems when I used it on the inaugural flight of the Airbus 380 and yet it was just so amazing.

I have never had any problems with EK ICE, I would put that on top with SQ on a close second.

FR.

I find the safety card glued to the back of each seat very entertaining.

Seriously though, V-Port is the best in my opinion, theres too much to choose from for a 10 hour flight in my opinion.

VS with it's amazing V:Port has my vote. I only had troubles with it once and the F/A's re-set my system and didn't have any further problems. I don't know if this is just V:Port or most IFE systems but it was kinda slow-response.

I'll be flying NW soon in an A332, any input on how good or bad their IFE in Y is? All I know is it's AVOD but are the choices extensive?

Peace in the Middle East!

I would say the NW A330 AVOD is very good by US legacy standards. Assuming your system works, it is not bad.

So far KLM has won me over. It had an extensive selection and didn't crash on me. I look forward to flying another one of their 777s someday.

I would defiantly go with UA with Channel 9. It is really to bad AC did not decide to integrate ATC communications with their new AVOD.

I have to say for a commuter airline, I know AC competes with some good operators but QK is in a league of their own with the AVODs in the CRJ705s.
