Northwest, United, Atlas Air, Polar Air Cargo are U.S. airlines with 747-400s. Several foreign airlines use it, including KLM, Lufthansa, Air France, Singapore, etc. etc.

Several? Most of the 744's made are not on the US register  Big grin But yes, United and Northwest are the only US scheduled passenger airlines to use them.

Air India also uses the 747-400 to JFK and ORD. As well as Japan Airlines to several cities (ORD for sure).

All I've ever seen El Al use in the U.S. are 777's and 762's.

As far as I am aware El Al use the 744 on their frequent KJFK - LLBG flights. Maybe also to LAX at one point, bu I think that has now been downgraded to the 767-200!

There is an El Al 744 on the left hand side parked next to a North American 757 or 767.

I was browsing through this post and I was surprised (not in a bad way!) to see my El Al 744 picture referenced...  Big thumbs up

I shot that El Al 744 from the Costco parking lot near JFK (on final for 31R), and I have seen their 744 at JFK plenty of times.

South African hasn't operated their 744's into the US for about a month- they have a A343E run to JFK via DKR, I believe. They've got the A346 on the ATL run, although I'm not sure how, exactly, the route will last. Anyone have any idea when the route is to be dropped? And in favor of what new routing? IAD, I'm assuming.

In addition to the above mentioned, Air Pacific runs their 744's to LAX, from Nadi, Fiji (NAN).

Next flights: JAX-MIA-EGE on AA

You see Air India 744s at EWR as well. Singapore Airlines ia another regular at EWR with 744s for now. Virgin Atlantic flies both 744 and A340s to EWR and as for EL AL, they switch between 744s and 777s! I have also spotted LH and BA 744s at EWR on many occasions.

Yeah, LY uses 747's on the JFK runs, and SAA has stopped using the 747's on flights to the states.

I hope that SAA drops the ATL service fast.

No way that ATL should have such service anyway.

The flight should be moved to IAD or ORD immediately.

I'm sick of airports like ATL or IAH getting all sorts of foreign flights that they don't deserve!!

Yes, people, I am a disgruntled DFW man!!

Qantas operate a B744 between LAX and JFK three days a week! But you have to be comming from/going to the South Pacific to fly it!

Soaringadi,
Air Tahiti Nui doesn't even operate the 744. It operates a fleet of 343s.

How about Royal Air Maroc's (RAM) Casablanca - JFK flight? RAM used to operate both B-742 and B-744's. Last time I was at JFK, RAM had the B-767, so I do not know if they still send their B-744 to JFK.
